Personally still deciding whether to press the button and cant have it arrive before Jan so I have time.

Keen to see what spec and colours you are going for?

I like the GT Silver on 20's Black Wheels

Other items id like to spec:
PDk
NAV
PSE
Isofix
Upgrade lights

Quite basic otherwise options get ridiculous!

Being offered about £2k discount at the moment.

That's not a bad discount to be starting with on a new model, I think OPC's may have to sharpen their pencils on the new 718 which has the potential to be good for aspiring owners.

Is that a finance discount or a genuine £2K off the car?

Bit premature I know, as I am planning to wait for Boxster GTS but Current thinking is Miami Blue, blue hood, graphite blue/crayon sport-tex /leather interior (unless Alcantara or some special interior "GTS Pack" is introduced). Satin platinum 20" wheels. What do you think ?

Seems to me that the Sat Nav option might be a bit pointless if you intend to use Apple Carplay.

Apple Car Play is not mentioned unless you tick Connect £422 or Connect+ £801. Maybe you've seen it shown on another page of the configurator ?

I would also choose Connect and skip the PCM Navigation Module.
Saves money and since Carplay is only a display connection from the iPhone it should be quite future proof with new features being added with each new iOS update.

In Europe can't option Connect without the Alarm system which makes it almost as expensive as PCM Nav alone (1345€ vs 1547€).

Alarm is standard in the UK so it's £422 vs £1052 which in my view makes Connect a no-brainer as long as you use an iPhone.

Hi my spec for a July delivery is-
Boxster S
PDK
Gt silver
Red roof
Red/black leather
Carrera S wheels20 inch in titanium
PSE
Sport chrono
Light upgrade
Reverse camera and sensors
Heated seats
Cruise control
Folding mirrors
Digital radio
Nav
Gt steering wheel
Painted roll over bars

I think that's probably enough! Having driven one I'm really looking forward to it.

The Connect option is basically Apple CarPlay with a tray in the centre console to put your phone in to boost signal (uses car aerial instead of phone for stronger signal).

Amongst other things it integrates the Apple Maps app on your phone with the PCM screen as an alternative Sat Nav (with Siri calling out the directions). Had a brief demo at the PEC yesterday. Seems a perfect option for someone like me who only uses Nav occasionally. Be aware though. iPhone users only and (the head of 718 product development was on hand for questions he mentioned) Porsche have no plans for Android integration. Also remember if you are using Apple Maps as your Sat Nav you'd better have a fairly healthy data plan with your mobile provider. Unlike traditional Nav systems that connect to satellites, Apple CarPlay is using your iPhones data signal to provide your information. The bloke from Porsche did use this as a reason to buy full PCM Nav ie your Sat Nav won't stop working if you lose 3G!

Anyone got any firm dates for Cayman ordering yet?

I've been told launch in June, official on sale date September, first customer cars October.

However, my OPC doesn't want to talk specs, deals etc as they haven't been given their 'allocation' yet.

I flit between Miami blue and Graphite blue. Really what I want is the old Sapphire blue, but it's not available on the 718.

Not sure why they dropped sapphire blue - my favourite colour. If I was a sceptic I might suggest it was so they could flog Miami Blue for £1500 or get people to go PTS at even more.
