You Just slip out the back, Jack
Make a new plan, Stan
You don't need to be coy, Roy
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, Gus
You don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
And get yourself free
Obviously
This popped into mind as soon as I read the thread title. Make a new plan, Stan

Derr! Go figure
Named or not the female is going to be a bit pissed off having 'their' relationship poured over by a bunch of car geeks. No-one is asking for an explanation from him, he seems perfectly capable of wanting to keep us informed. Take a chill pill pal!
Derr! Go read my post. I was quite chilled and quite on the side of the OP. In fact I was defending that it was anonymous discussion on a forum and that nothing identified her - the only person that could identify the subject is her and her alone....Named or not the female is going to be a bit pissed off having 'their' relationship poured over by a bunch of car geeks. No-one is asking for an explanation from him, he seems perfectly capable of wanting to keep us informed. Take a chill pill pal!

What's that got to do with it?
you can't suggest that someone deletes their account just over a thread that didn't go very well.I don't know if you saw my absolute car crash of a thread earlier this week, but I didn't delete my account.
And you've been on here since 2005, so you must have had threads that might not have worked out like you wanted it to - but I don't see you deleting your profile

She said to delete it because the ex(?) knows about his account and so can check up on what he is posting into the future. If the OP wants to avoid this the only way is to create a new account, as even if he changes the name she can find an old post, click on his old username and it will take it to his profile page. Which will have his new username. This all depends on the ex being a crazy stalker, which we don't know, or the OP actually wanting to hide everything on PH from her.

This is true. You are allowed to close an account and start a new ID, providing you tell the mods - who are very, very helpful on this topic. They are reluctant to delete a profile and posts unless in extremis as it breaks a lot of threads. She said to delete it because the ex(?) knows about his account and so can check up on what he is posting into the future. Maybe best to lock, close and have a new profile.
