Hi

A number of SEAC owners are having a SEAC get together (Like they did back in 1994) in September or Spring next year, so should you be a SEAC owner and want to come please contact me directly for further details.

So far we have 9 cars committed or shown an interest in the event/meeting but more the merrier!

If any other wedge owner wants to come along to see these cars together, please also get in contact directly for further details.

Hi

Yes Keith please come a long.

A date has not yet been set, or place, it may be this Sept or realistically next Spring, it could be in Wales or the opposite side of the country, it is up to the other SEAC owners to decide were and when.

But it will happen.

What we want is some more SEAC owners to Join in, it will be posted up on here on the TVRCC wedge forum and Face book!

There will no doubt be a few SEAC's at the fest but a specially organised SEAC event will bring them all out and on display as that will be the main attraction. I like the idea Andy. I hope you do manage to set this up as there is nothing better I'd like to see than a good collection of SEAC's. It brings back memories for me from the time when me and my brother in law purchased one from then a one lady owner. The car was bougt by my brother in law but I got to drive it on many occasions. Happy days.

Hi Andy

Sorry not had time to reply to your email .. with one thing and another.

September is out for me .. as the SEAC may not be fully road legal by them and September is holiday month for me, plus racing in the Brighton speed trial in my AMG SLK.

Would be really interested in a SEAC meet-up say in spring next year. Guess its best to see who is interested and decide on location based on that but it could be central or a place with some great driving roads.

Hi Alan

Thank you for your response, yes I am more thinking towards the Spring as it will give us all time to organise our diaries. Yes its the same old problem finding a site to base the meeting at, but the most important one is must have some real interesting roads to drive with a touch of nice scenery to add to it for photo opportunity.
But I would like this to be a majority decision so I can see a lot of e-mailing around between us all.
Also as it has been made obvious on this thread other wedge owners want to come along to see the sight of hopeful more than 10 SEAC's together, unfortunately the racer will not be able to do the main driving routes (Unless its on the car trailer behind my Range smile)

Hi Andy,

I understand your intentions, I think. However, where is this going to end? Are we to have a separate event, gathering, call it what you like, for every variety of TVR Tasmin? Surely not. After all, a Wedge, is a Wedge, is a Wedge. We are all in the same family.

Also, I understand where the Club fits in; mostly with the later TVRs, in my opinion.

Surely thus is not divide and conquer. There will be a separate sub-forum on Pistonheads and the TVRCC next. Even the T350 and Sagaris are together on TVRCC, and the Tamora is with them on Pistonheads.

I welcome further debate. Not sure what is best for the marque.

No this is about SEAC owners having a meeting and of our cars, simple as that. The Fest is for all Wedges including SEAC's but this meeting is just about the SEAC! If other wedge owners want to come along to see the sight then they can, that's there choice. I am not planning to have the rolling road, traders no it's just about SEAC's It was done in the 94 so it's long over due.

Admittedly it would be nice to re-create what was done 12 years ago...I personally think if it was at the same venue as in 2004 with all the same cars then that would be something really special...However i didn't see any other model of Wedge on the video...Unless they were parked around the corner?...

Mind you i have the same...Centre console..Dash...Ashtray...Steering wheel..Chassis...Rear lights...Number plate ...Rear bumper...Doors...Handles....Hood and Targa.....Washer bottle...Expansion tank...Brake servo...Master cylinder...Slave cylinder...Brake master....Power steering pump...Windscreen wipers...Fan motor.....Bonnet and boot struts....Mirror pods...Indicators...Boot hinge....Smell....and appeal....So maybe ill come as well but I'm not hiding round any corners!.....

It does come across as rather elitist in the Wedge fraternity (whether intended or not). Surely on this basis there should be one meeting for the "original" Kevlar SEACs, and another for the common or garden fibreglass version?

As an aside, I'm hoping that I will see some SEACs at the Continental Meeting this year, being put to their intended use. Come on guys, you know it makes sense driving

Well said Henry.

Perhaps we need another meet/ forum for modified Wedges as well whistle

Andy wants to set up a meeting for all SEAC's and SEAC owners want to attend. I don't see the problem. What makes a SEAC special, is not the components or parts found in all wedges, but its monstrous engine and race pedigree. It's what brought me onto the Wedge scene. I still have never owned one because I have other powerful cars I need and use, but maybe one day. One day soon.

This quote can apply to any model of Wedge. The SEAC is merely one amongst many different models. Everyone is special and different as we all know.

I can't see the problem.

There was a SEAC only meet-up many years ago and it would be nice to recreate a group shot like the one we had at Ettington chase or a photo from above..

I am sure other wedges and TVR's would also be more than welcome.

Tony i think its the exact opposite of what you are saying ..After all does the SEAC not share the same parts with us all?....I know of a Series 2 350i with a "Monstrous" Griff HC 5.0ltr V8 that would eat any SEAC for breakfast....Now thats special but its still a Wedge...???

A SEAC costs no more than any other Wedge to maintain and run and doesn't need any special parts...You could of owned one if you hadn't owned around 5 400SE and a 350SE...Surely?

It sounds to me and I'm very sorry if this offends anybody like a massive self inflated ego trip....Its similar to when i was a schoolboy and the kids who parents had more money than us used to look down on us and brag that they had the latest trainers...A new bike...The latest toys....blabla...sleep

They may of had a lot of money but they never had any real friends to spend it with...Just parasites ....Im glad we didn't (Bloody iMac) have a lot when we were kids....."Thanks Dad for pissing it all up the wall"...thumbup

I don't think its a bad thing at all but to have other models of Wedge going along doesn't make sense?...I mean each to their own and all that...

Any opportunity for a drive is good for me and I do like the thought of seeing as many SEAC's as possible in one place, whether it's at the BBWF or as a separate more basic meet-up. Let's not argue boys, life is way too bloody short. Just get your cars out and drive them while the sun is shining and we've got our health. Time for a cider I think.

+ 1 I do agree with you Keith.....I guess its just something i happen to over hear at a Wedgefest some years back when someone bought a SEAC...His hand got shaken and i heard.."Welcome to the elite club of SEAC ownership"....At the time i could only just about afford to own a 280i...Im not a jealous man or envy anyone who works hard to get what they have...But that remark sounded so belittling to any other model of Wedge...I love them all...In fact i love non-Wedges too...I wonder if the Griffs have a separate meet for the Pre-cat and the SE????....Im not condemning it and would love to see a big group of SEAC's in one place also...Although i would prefer to just drive one...smile
