As above, does anyone offer classic car insurance with no garage? I've just been offered a lovely 190e (1993) but my garage has a broken classic inside for the next few months. Talk about bad timing!

Thanks

Yes, I've got classic car insurance through Carole Nash with the car parked on the road outside my house.

When my car was going to be out of the garage, I rang the insurers to tell them. They said it wouldn't affect the premium, it was the post code they were mainly interested in. I would think that if it's the rarest car in the world it might have some bearing though.

I've a 94 SL, ordinary ins is cheaper than classic. About £150 with a 6000 mpa policy.

How will the value be calculated in the event of a claim?

Thanks to all for replying. I had it in my head that a garage was compulsory. Feel free to post any more companies that do it.

I'll update when I get something arranged.

Thanks again.

I've found Hagerty the best and easiest to deal with. 2 classics on drive at the minute.

Footman James allow me to keep either classic in my garage, my mother's garage or on the drive at either property. They didn't ask a penny extra when I discussed with them. Just updated the policy.

Market value is fine, the car isn't in a condition that it needs an "agreed" value.

Strangely enough OneCall provided the cheapest quote for me on my Porsche 944 but not on my Toyota so you do need to shop around.
