What exactly is it that comes out of the exhaust.?

I don't.mean CO2 etc, I mean the black crap that ruined my trousers while putting the roof in the boot.

My S does the same and I think it's because the exhaust tilts upwards on the ends and moisture condensates and collects a bit of carbon which spits out upon a cold start up. (My Theory only).

I believe that every gallon of petrol burned produces a gallon of water. If you do short runs the exhaust doesn't get hot enough to evaporate thec water which collects at the lowest point.I'm sure someone will be along shortly who knows the answer
