But, when you have multi millions, it isnt really good enough to have decent, expensive stuff, so there is a market for sprinkling, normal everyday items with jewels, rare metals and bits of animals to make it extra special,
Reminds me of the phones you can buy for GBP 15,000. Does everything every other mobile phone does, needs charging all the time, loses signal regularly but its got a white gold case. Must have weighed a ton, which is probably why was on the table when it got stolen.
Vertu,

Seems to be old Nokias and Android phones in fancy cases, quite an achievement convincing people to part with ten grand plus for a phone that is actually worse than anything you can buy for £800 or less.
Wow, you quite literally don't understand the concierge service Vertu offer hehe. That's pretty cute.
I am aware of it, I did read about it but its only included for a year and after that its like 3 grand, so the rest of the time you have a nicely made but out of date phone, surely anyone with plenty of money has a PA of their own anyway, do people use the "Concierge" service that much ?

And "That's pretty Cute", really ?
You have it alongside your modern phone. A PA isn't going to have the contacts required or the time to research into it. Yes, plenty of folks use them.

That makes no sense at all. There's a variety of reasons someone might want stuff beyond basic needs that isn't stupid and a variety of reasons that are stupid.
How much isn't stupid then?

What I'm trying to say is that beyond the basics, we all make a choice how to spend money (if we have any)

I like nice cars, watches and clothes. The price I'd pay for a watch would be stupid for most, it just tells the time. Why even have a watch, your phone tells the time. why even have a phone, just turn on the radio or ask someone.

I begrudge paying 5p for a carrier bag, my girlfriend would happily pay £2,500 for a bag.

$300,000 for a handbag is a snip compared to these, $150,000,000+ and each could be done by a demented zoo monkey.

That's "art" for you.

They obviously have a market them, I hate having multiple devices though, more than one phone sends me mental, cant you just buy the service without the blinged up 3310 ?

The video at the end of the article is horrific! I didn't watch it all, and I guess its a good thing they showed part of the reality of making these trinkets!
Quite atrocious that people can even consider buying them after seeing that.
Without looking at the article I can guess what the video is about - absolutely horrific.

I have always admired crocodile/alligator skin and was seriously considering a pair of crocodile/alligator shoes before learning of the processes some companies use to obtain this leather.

I cannot tell you how pleased I am that I discovered this before ordering a pair and sentencing a creature to such needless torture for my own vanity!

Hermes are one of the worst culprits as they want the most perfect hides and seem to care little as to how this perfection is achieved.

My mate uses Quintessentially, has done since it started and it used to get us into some great places back in the day - about 2003 it was pretty reasonable at (iirc) £1K/year and could somehow magically skip guest lists for extremely popular clubs and restaurants with one call which was ideal when we were in our mid-20s.

Think he still has the service but its a lot more per year now. Also uses it for different things now he has a family, the business has expanded a lot too.

Bit too rich for my tastes, wouldn't use it enough to get the benefits it could offer.
