Late to the topic, and I skipped the middle 22 pages, but I hope you went with the original outfit.
I don't think being over dressed is an issue as long as you're not loud and obnoxious with it, friendly etc. and people will remember you as standing out, not wanting to look like every other corporate bod there. Better to be remembered than blend into the grey back ground. Those I've met who dress to their own standard regardless are often the most interesting.

Can the dickishness stop now please?

A young lad posts a couple of pics, and the last page has been frankly embarrassing.

Neither, just preferred the thread when it wasn't so dickish.

Must confess I was about to click "ignore thread". A little banter is fun but a load of sheep slavishly repeating the original quip is just tedious. Can't imagine many more people will post snaps if the hords simply join the usual Pistonheads ritual stoning of the lamb after someone else has thrown the first stone.

Thank you Rich, it's nice to know I'm not a lone voice, and you're right regarding people posting up pictures now, as most people will think F that.

Fwiw, I didn't love Romeogolf's work outfit, but think his casual wear was spot on.

Ooooh I'm sooo gay for saying that, blah blah blah :-/

I think that's a pretty reasonable point of view (even though I wasn't a fan of the jacket).
Being tastefully different, a little better dressed, is rarely a bad thing in any business or social environment, for that matter.

A lone voice, but not alone in the sentiment.
I suspect you have simply said what many were thinking.
Glad you did.
The poor man has done nothing to deserve it that I can see.

I'm sure a lot of the comments people have received on here have put others off from posting as you say.

The inevitable banter will of course arise (and should be encouraged) but if we could please refrain from personal insults that would be much appreciated. thumbup
Of course a lot of posters make pretty much the same level of comment on all threads and are generally to be ignored but when some of the insults are personal it can be difficult to ignore them. What I do find funny though is that often those same people get quite irate if they are criticized in any way. rolleyes

Please stop with the bleeding heart st guys. I don't imagine romeogolf is in the slightest bit bothered about the light-hearted banter. If he was, he wouldn't have posted up photos of himself in the first place.

This is Pistonheads, everyone takes the piss out each other but for the most part it is good natured and I don't see anything other than good humour in this thread.

It's not because anyone thinks the chap is curled up in a corner crying, it's because we're not 5 years old so throwing insults (well, some seemingly are) and then throwing the old "gay card" when people suggest it's getting tiresome is a little predictable.

It's dickish and adds less than zero to the thread.

If you want to act like a dick, don't cry when you get called out for it.

Pistonheads used to be great, and still can be when dickishness is put a halt to, rather than being allowed to continue, and ruin the thread.

The amount of half decent threads on PH, that get killed by dickishness is disappointing.

I don't point this out to protect Romeogolf as I'm pretty sure he doesn't need it. I point it out because it brought a decent thread to a F'ing halt, and the likelihood of anyone posting pictures now is much less.

We've asked for a clothing/style subforum which would stop this, but it doesn't look likely for some reason.

I wasn't aware I had been called out on anything. Now stop being a tt, there's a good chap.

If you check back through Website Feedback you find I suspect that I requested a style forum a long time ago But as you point out there seems to be no will at PH.

Mugabe is rocking the standard Army issue glasses for basic training. So retro.

Anyway. Allow to ask if this belt is too young looking for a 33 year old?

you are allowed to ask and the answer is no.

It's an unusual belt. With a pair of black trousers it would possibly look like you were standing in a bin bag?

The fact they are now selling it out for a loss would suggest it has not been hugely well received. I imagine it is very ensemble dependent as to whether it works which does make it more expensive than the price suggests.
