The standard arm length at Lewins is an inch too long for me and the short arms an inch too short

Good shout and definitely a cheap deal, but i've really gone off their shirts!!
I used to wear them years ago, but they always looked like I'd ironed them whilst wearing them.

A friend swears by them but he buys the non-iron ones which he then irons.

non-iron shirts are a lie. They are just normal shirts which feel nasty.

Yeah they are either full of Polyester or like TM Lewins Shirts 100% cotton but coated in Formaldehyde Resin.

I bought a suit and a shirt from them, all online. They mixed up the measurements as the suit that arrived has 16.5inch length trouser legs and the sleeves on the shirts are 33 inches long.

I looked a right fool in my meeting today having to constantly roll my sleeves up and trousers like john travolta.

Anyone tried made to measure suits? I had 2 made by Indochino in NYC which were shocking. I think the issue is that their standard design doesn't accommodate my girth. Even after being measured at their place in Soho and having 2 more suits made, they still looked like garbage. I so wanted it to work so I could collect suits and they failed me. But, having looked at other people with "normal" bodies I rarely see a successful fit with mtm.

I have gone back to my "beater" Hugo boss suits and started buying Canali. The Canali show a quality that the trinket laden mtm just couldn't match.
So, anyone had success with mtm?

I had limted success. I was also quite big back then. I parted company with the tailor when two suits he made looked bloody awful. He retured my deposit and they became what tailors refer to ask "porks" I believe - i.e. suits that customers have rejected.

I now tend to buy reasonable off the peg and have it tailored. I too have some Boss suits which are no better than okay, but I have just bought some Hackett stuff that has come out well after a bit of attention from the tailor.

Ref Canali - I tried some of their blazers recently. These days I am quite slim, but broad shouldered, and I felt that even after tailoring they would not be right. I am surprised, if you are big round the middle, that they suit you, because they seemed to me to be cut for skinny people.

Try Olymp.

The only ones who do it properly.

Horses for courses and all that, but I tried a few Olymp level 5 body fit shirts based on recommendations here - I really don't think the quality's there, especially at the price.
I'm very happy with ctshirts 'business casual extra slim'.

The level 5 tend to be lightweight, soft construction, it is their Luxor non iron range that tends to be the ones people really like.

as far as shirts go i am back to thomas pink as they have started a "business" deal of 4 shirts for £200. TP are no longer in the £100 a piece bracket, but for £50 they are OK. Well cut (if not premium cloth), which is more than can be said for TM Lewin, Charles Tyrwhitt, Hawes & Curtis etc

I'll wear whatever doesn't smell too much that day. If it does smell then we'll work something out.

I'm the same. Didn't like tm Lewin either. Pick up an odd work shirt in the sale and I think they're great at about £35-50 and they seem to last, at least they have so far and would be happy to keep getting them every now and again for this money.

their sale prices are now £20-25 each providing you do a multi-buy. They're OK at that price I guess.

I feel the suit might be a touch obstructive for day to day wear around the farm, the shoes wouldn't survive been ankle deep in slurry. However I do like the shade of his lipstick.
