I went a bit mad a couple of years ago and stocked up for the impending apocalypse that didn't happen.
We eventually got through all the excess dried food and tins...but I've still got plenty of portable gas stove cylinders, a water filter and solar powered off-grid stuff.
I'm sure it'll come in handy one day...

No harm in stocking up and having it…if you are wrong you have too much food, if you actually get an emergency you have the food.
