I tried a sample of that and loved it initially. I don't want to ruin it for you, but the rose element ends up making me think of grandmothers, and from that point on it was spoilt for me!

hehe I'd already noticed that, actually. For some reason it isn't off-putting for me though. The same can be said for Dior Homme Parfum (it's very powdery smelling), but it still draws me in regularly!

A bit more 'classic/common' would be something like Green Irish Tweed, but that doesn't get worn regularly by me as it's just too punchy.

My favourite has now switched back to Tobacco Vanille, but the most addictive for me is Dior Homme Parfum. Have you tried it?

Scent Samples have 15% off (or did yesterday, not sure if they still do).
I'm a sucker for their flash sales. Mrs Toasty also placed an order yesterday.

I did have a sample of DHP a while ago and remember liking it for cooler days. It was quite mellow and warming if that makes sense.

For me, L'Air du Desert Marocain has been the absolute standout of the samples so far. It reminds me of a load of spices with crushed up Refreshers, it's completely unique and lasts all day. I'll get a full bottle soon.

Does anyone remember 'Hardy Amies'? Used to use it years ago but it's no longer around, sadly.

Cool Water, Ralph Lauren Black or Fahrenheit for daily wearers. Really like Abercrombie & Fitch Fierce and Fierce Confidence for evenings out, get the most compliments with them and always stock up when I'm in the United States of Americaland. Never even heard of Creed, can someone describe what it smells like? smile

It smells of pineapple and smoke. I know that doesn't sound that appealing, but it smells like a rich guy who gets a lot of pu**y.

Thread revival...

Managed to blag a free 5 ml sample of Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille the other day. Smells amazing, my other half loves it and a small dab lasts all night. About £300 for 100 ml bottle but definitely my new favourite. They also do a leather one which is pretty nice too. I much prefer this to the Creed samples I've tried.

Tom Ford do make some quality scents. They all seem to last all day for me. It's a shame they're so damn expensive so I'll have to do without the pretty bottles and stick to samples.

My latest haul of samples which should keep me going for a while:-

Parfums de Marly - Herod - Tobacco, Vanilla - Subtly different to TF Tobacco Vanille
Serge Lutens - Chergui - Tobacco, Vanilla - Subtly different to Herod
Profumum Roma - Acqua Viva - Lemon, Lime. Full of citrus.
Bond No. 9 - Bleecker Street - Fresh, blackcurrant, aquatic. Damn good.
By Kilian - Back to Black, aphrodisiac - Subtly different to Chergui
Thierry Mugler - Mugler Cologne - Soapy, fruity. Great for the summer.
Chanel - Egoiste - Sandalwood Classic
Comme Des Garcons - Wonderwood & 2 - Not tried in anger yet.

I have that exact scent. It's £215 for 100ml, but personally I don't regret it. I've had it for a year now, and it's my day-to-day fragrance.
