Some will no doubt say they don't begrudge a penny, for everyone else there will be things they don't mind paying for, things they pay for and it grates but you know it is the right thing to do, and things you really hate spending on and avoid doing it at all costs.

For me, I personally enjoy putting a nice golden half litre of oil in by way of top up. Likewise new wipers. I totally begrudge paying to have scrapes and minor dings sorted - hence why I rarely do it.

Oil change, Tyres and Brakes. No issue spending good money on those.

Brakes, cambelts and water pumps. Having new ones on gives a bit of extra confidence

I'm indifferent about tyres, I just want black, round and not going to burst at high speed, the rest of the tyre conversation I can gauge the feel of when I'm driving

Oil change I'm kind of with you on, it's nice knowing that there's fresh clean oil in there (for the first 10 miles anyway with a diesel).

Stickers. My silly little 206 gets covered in them.

Gotta keep my car down with the kids and all that.

Suspension components as well for me - every time I fit new droplinks etc I always get that warm, fuzzy feeling of how much better the ride/handling will be.

Also just invested £20 and waterproofed my 'vert roof with Autoglym- I actually went out in the rain later that day to watch the water bead off it, god it was satisfying!

Labour!

I begrudge paying for someone to work on my car, and try to as much as possible myself.

The really annoying ones are the need to pay for electronic resets of warning lights after faults are fixed, or if the battery is disconnected.

Anything mechanical really. If it's bodywork it can go hang.

Agree 100% - Wipers too...makes a hell of a difference when fitting new ones compared to old (even one year old ones)

Stuff to make the engine stay together and working, cambelt, oil, filters, new plugs...

Most other stuff can be repaired economically if it breaks, if a big end seizes up, its an instant write-off for the car, which besides being a pain in the backside, would also make me sad, as i like my car.

Oh, and stuff to put it back to original, spent €50 on an original radio which has less functions then the pioneer aftermarket POS that was in there just to get the center console looking correct again.

Performance upgrades - as I feel I'm getting something better so it's worth paying for.

Unlike servicing etc where I'm just paying out to keep it the same frown
