Jeremy has come over all Generalissimo then. Good to see a little bit of steel from him I guess, as he has the full backing of the general members.

Just been on the BBC news too. He's been trying to organise a putsch but the trick with those is to try and make sure the person you're attempting to oust doesn't know about it.

I don't know why he bothered anyway - the only way Corbyn is leaving the labour leadership is by his own volition.

Corbyn should resign over the EU result though - for a remainer he was woeful.

The leavers can thank him largely for their win.

He's woeful at everything he's ever done. Why would this be any different?

Corbyn has a long and documented history of opposition to and dislike of the EU. That's why his remain campaigning was half hearted at best.

He is still at utter knobgobbler though.

I don't doubt leave got a lot of support and did well on the back of their own campaign - but even just a slightly better corbyn effort could have dragged 1.2m more labour voters to back remain. Probably. Who knows. The labour vote should have been more solidly remain, and it was very weak indeed it seems. Thats down to Corbyn.

Corbyn has never been a remainer, have you not worked that one out yet? His entire political career has been anti EU.

Good - I had no love for his father but his views on the EU I fully agreed with and I'm sure he would have been very disappointed with his son siding with remain

Why should the "Labour vote" be expected to vote for remain. They've had their wishes ignored for years & been dismissed as racists and little Englanders by the metropolitan elite that run Labour. Not to mention shafted more than anyone by our membership of the EU.

Well, finally they had their say.

Bring on the clowns

Yes, it's a great shame that Tony Benn didn't live to see this moment.

Same goes for Ted Heath, for a very different reason.

Tough times ahead for both parties, they both need strong leadership. At least it would seem at the moment jeremy is standing his ground but will other labour members follow Hilary out of the door?
