Starting again
Discussion
I'm in a strange position.
I split with the missus last night. I started going out with her 11 years ago. We had a house, split before and she bought a flat. I spent all my money on crap and travelling. Good times.
I'm 29 years old. Good job contracting but don't have much to my name. Probably £7k.
I'm not sure if I am fortunate or not. I can do anything. Go anywhere, or rent a flat and carry on plodding along doing what I am doing.
Pretty gutted today but I think it was mutual from the pair of us.
What would you do? More travelling?
I've got until Saturday realistically as I'm sat in my old dears one bed bungalow until she returns.
Thanks for listening

My advice would be try and live on her couch, put the £7k into starting a business in something you find exciting and put all of your energy into this.
If it doesnt work youve had a crack and you been doing something to take your mind off of the situation in the same way travelling could.
If it does work happy days grow the business and either sell and lve off of the funds or keep it going wih minimal input from yourself and now go travelling.
Very simplistic view i understand but if your just after a new experience this could be it.

Sorry to hear that, break-ups are always st!
You got any good mates in the same boat that would want to go travelling or have a spare room you could use for a few months until the dust settles and you decide what you want to do?
Also get something in the Diary to look forward to, a Concert, holiday, trip to Goodwood, moto gp race etc, anything you fancy?
I bought a road bike (push) after a break up and absolutely love getting out cycling in Scotland
Keep the chin up

I would think yourself lucky that you weren't married. Most people your age in a long-term relationship would be in a much worse position than you are now.
Essentially, you have a clean break and whilst it's not the best at the moment it could have been a lot worse.
I would continue with the contracting until you decide what is best for you and you are in a better frame of mind (and better off financially) to change anything - if a change is needed at all.
Good luck.
