In fact didn't a lot of arcades just have the Neo Geo hardware stuffed in a cabinet?
Yes pretty much exactly the same, just without the plastic covering e.g. just the motherboard.

I've got a Musical Fidelity B1 amp locked in a drawer somewhere. Not been used in 15+ years. Should sell it really, as I gather they fetch good money:

Another Sony Minidisk owner here; just dug this out, there are even a couple of unopened disks in the box:

And in the same place was this phone:

In the loft is a portable video camera which was purchased in 2003 for our New York holiday; I remember it cost around £500 back then, I must dig it out to see if it works as there are a load of tapes under the bed.

I wonder how long it'll be before Hipsters are into Minidisk players; prices will rocket!!?

I remember being awestruck with my Erikson t18 having voice activated dialling,it seemed like witchcraft at time.

Oooo the toilet seat Mac book. Forgot all about those. Got my first job after doing an interview presentation with a borrowed orange one.

Great machines in their day - haven't picked it up for a few years, forgotten how heavy they were!

The Powerbook Duo is a sweet little thing - very small and very light. Years ahead of the game, really.

Slide projector.

I`ve still got my Prinzflex (made in the USSR) 35mm camera kit I used when I traveled to Grand Prix`s in the late 70`s and 80`s.It still takes perfect photo`s.

Now how about this for a "Mobile Phone" ??

My son commandeered it from an Iraqi military vehicle during the First Gulf War.

It's obviously Russian,can any of you experts give some info on this?

Just remembered another, my old man had one of these built into the armrest in his Mercedes 190 many moons ago. I guess they were the precursor to mobile phones. I remember him making calls on it from time to time and thinking how cool it was. He removed it when he sold it and it sat in the cupboard under the stairs for years, I wonder if he still has it?

Nokia 7110 - I moved to London in Spring '99, and remember getting one of those at Christmas before the Millenium celebrations soon after they were launched.

First internet phone (WAP anyway) that I owned.

If that iPod is first gen it's worth 2k+, even the old nano's are £4-500.
There are plenty still in boxes on Ebay for less than £200, still a decent amount but you'd have to be daft to pay £2000.

Okay I admit it scanned ebay at completed listings and the top 5 were all the same nutcase relisting his overpriced minter for £2k over and over again.

Still good money and def more than £200 for a first generation one.

Around the same time the Matrix came out, is it the one with the button that makes the bottom thing slide out on a spring?

That was the coolest thing if you had one at school.

Anyone got an Atari Lynx or Jaguar lying around by any chance? Both were way ahead of their time IMO and probably worth a pretty penny now as they are quite rare.
One of the guys I work with has both. With you on the rarity.

Out of stuff in this thread, I've got a couple of MiniDisc players and a few old phones hanging around.
On Ebay right now Atari Lynx's are going for £40-£80. A friend had one when they came out, all I can recall is that it ate batteries and you could flip it 180˚ if you were left-handed.

I lusted after a PC Engine purely for the R-Type conversion.

Let's not argue about this.

There are plenty at LESS than £200, in fact the SOLD ITEMS reveals the going rate to be around £50 :-)

To be honest, I can't see why they would be worth much at all, unless absolutely mint, unused in the box type museum pieces.

My folks moved house recently and found this. Admittedly belongs to my dad but still cool nonetheless.

Also found my Commodore 64, Amiga CTDV and some Star Wars/Transformers stuff.

All this stuff is modern. I gave one of these away a couple of years ago;

And one of these;

And two of these;

The last one (Xerox 6085) was years ahead of its time, but Xerox couldn't do marketing worth diddly-squat.

I had the original Lynx, definitely true about the batteries. Shame there were no really killer games for it, that's what killed it in the end. I sold my original one to my cousin and bought the Lynx II which was shorter and fatter - still have that one...

I had one of those at BT for entering time sheets in! Used to post the chip off every week in a jiffy bag that the new one came in.
