MSA Bluebook

Sprint and Hillclimb Association Website I'd good.

Uphillracers.com is really useful, and always really friendly and helpful - a lot of the answers you need will already have been asked on their forum.

I'm in my first season and can try and answer any questions

As above.

And the more standard the car is the better...the rules do get insanely complicated for anything that's modified !

Yeah but there is "modified" and "modified"... you can do loads of things to a car and keep it in a road going class. Different regions and clubs have their own rules so thats what you need to check to be compliant.

In addition to the good advice already given, if you go to the websites of some of the speed championships (SBD, Service Hydraulics, ASWMC, etc)they will give you a good idea as to class structures and the extent to which you can modify. They will also give a calendar of events and their locations.

As others have said, HSA website is good for regs etc but also you'll find that uphillracers is the most active forum with a wealth of knowledgeable folk on there daily who will happily help with any questions etc. I'm in Leeds and due time/money constraints I currently find Harewood the most convenient, ( there is a Harewood championship you can run in ), but also have Blyton Park, Three sisters , Anglessey all within reasonable reach . Have a look at the Longton Motor Club website as their Northern Sprint championship is a good option if you have the time etc.

Good luck if you give it a go and FYI there's a double header Sat/Sun meeting at Harewood on the 6/7 Aug.

If you're looking for sprint & hillclimb events then try On-Track.co.uk.
Also has venues, championships and non-MSA sprints - eg Javelin

also join a local car club that does sprints and go to a few.

They are normally free to spectate and teh paddock is open to anyone so you can chat to people to find out what hey are doing.

Most clubs are always looking for Marshalls if you want to get involved but you don't have a car or it is not ready yet.
