What watches did he buy.? Get him a 1966 Rolex oyster Datejust on jubilee bracelet, box and papers, engraved from you.

I'm 50 next year and would love this.1500 quid should do it.

Mike
£1500? Are you serious? I wouldn't want my kids to spend more than £50 - £1500's bloody ridiculous.

He got a Raymond Weil which is a quartz watch and a Balmain watch, which is an automatic watch. I'm not too sure he wants another watch though, I hinted to him maybe a Tag Heuer but he was unsure.

Really do like the idea of getting a watch for him...
Tag Aquaracer or F1 watch?

Good idea. Mum won't be impressed...
Oh I dunno, she may like the idea when she sees what's on offer:

Are you serious? How much you think a holiday in the Maldives costs which others have suggested.

Of course I'm serious. it's the ones suggesting £1500 on a birthday present for their dad who surely can't be.

1500 quid for a Rolex is cheap! And it will return your money if you ever sell it on.

Failing that , train ride on the Orient Express , bunch of air Balloon vouchers .

The day is nearing. How does everyone like the idea of a cheap convertible e.g mx5?

Question is what would your dad think to an mx-5?

Someone posted the Morgan experiences - my O/H hired a 3 wheeler for the weekend for my birthday a couple of years back as I've always liked the idea. It was easily the best thing we've ever done. Maybe something like that and a weekend in Wales to explore some decent routes together? Utterly hilarious time and we've not stopped talking about it since. Does exclude your mum however?

Only downside is I now really want to own one but he's not so sure...

Got my dad a Stag for the weekend from https://classiccarhirenorth.co.uk/our-cars/

He had one in his youth and it brought back loads of memories, he and mum went to a lot of their old haunts meeting with friends and generally reminiscing. Theyu came back and both commented on how it had made them feel like a 'courting couple' again. They loved it.

A Rolex with a suggestion that he leaves it to you in his will?

Not sure he'd like the idea of a used watch. I've spoken to mum, she likes the idea of a watch to be fair so we've started to look for one. Considering a Rolex, personally it's the ultimate watch IMHO.
