I didn't say who signed it either, but whoever did, it would still be a forgery.
Why? Signed by artist would be perfectly usual.
I think Robin is quite correct, the original context clearly indicated that the portrait was signed by the Queen herself. If it was a painting then being signed by the artist would be understood.
Why would the Queen sign a portrait of herself??

Is that the Regal equivalent of autographed photos?

She wouldn't, but I reckon that's what Duckwhistle meant.

My dad's OCD got the better of him in this regard. Whilst generally, the Digga snr estate is the epitome of middle class tidiness - neatly manicured hedges, lawns and borders and shiny clean motors on the driveway, all by his own hand - his bin looks like it is the property of a serial killer. Big, scary looking number, daubed in white gloss though would scarcely look worse if it were in human blood.

With horses, it isn't straightforward.

Black & white cobs are definitely Council, if not positively . (Pie + key).

Warmbloods, Andalusians, Arabs, or hunter types are definitely not Council at all. Native types, eg Connemaras, Fells, etc are, perhaps surprisingly, not Council either (the Queen rides a Fell).

Thoroughbreds are not Council, although Eventing and National Hunt racing are both more popular with horsey people than flat racing.

Is it council to not understand a word of that?

If so, throw me in that column hehe

IM not sure I quite get the pistonheads fascination with 'old money'.

To me old money appears to be people who have inherited their family's wealth, have never worked or have worked but done some st job on their own estate which is actually eating into the wealth.

Asset rich and cash poor screams "I've never done a days work in my life, but I do own a few million worth of property, old guns and a bashed up 1986 range rover, I spend my time belittling the gardener who has worked his whole life here for fk all as I can't afford anymore as there isn't actually any new money coming in"

The opposite to council would be pretty much anyone who isn't the below
Bloke sells drugs, some knock off gear and always seems to be home, mrs does nails. 3 kids from different dads. Versace (fake) bed linens. Subaru with stickers, massive exhaust, not been serviced since 3 years old. Always got a 'beef' with someone, usually over nothing but "ain't getting mugged off"
This is combined with some sort of benefit scam, breeding of dogs (whatever is popular at the time), putting about 80% of what they earn up their nose! loud music at home regularly, second hand hot tub! diamond encrusted rolex

Not sure how someone who's got themselves an m3, a nice watch, works hard and lives on a bovid new build is council, I sort of get it but I think some people have never had the joy of meeting someone proper council hehe

Going to the same school as your parent(s) is borderline council/not council.

Going to the same school as your parent(s) and being taught by the same teachers is not council.

My dad taught three generations of at least one family. That school was extremely council.

Can't remember the exact relationship but where I went to school one of the kids was an aunt or uncle to another kid!

Yes, I'd agree.
If a teacher is around long enough to teach so many generations, one would imagine, in most situations, it's VERY council.
As, by default, breeding far too quickly is massively council.

Don't know if it's just living in the countryside, but every other doley seems to be a hunter blasting "MC" music. Criminally council.

In fact, call me out, but old money is council. Only difference is they live in old houses.
