Afternoon all,

I have a Sigma 150-600 (c) and understand there is a firmware update to improve the autofocus. (i'm guessing that if the lens was bought recently it won't have the new firmware?) From what I can you need the dock to do the update which is about £30-40 now I know I could buy one do the update and resell the dock but I wondered if anyone have had any experience with getting the update done at a camera shop and how much they'd been charged.

Cheers

Cheers chaps,

I've had a look on sigma's website and found a couple of local shops, London Camera Exchange Lincoln tell me they charge £9.99 to update but they have a Sigma day Friday so are offering free updates so if I can get out of work might drive over.

Rob - I wondered the same . I message Sigma and they told me the only way to find out what firmware it has is to connect it to the dock. which isn't all that helpful. Their website shows the date as 11/3/2016.

That's very interesting because it was London Camera Exchange in Nottingham that said no they didn't. Will have to ask them if they are running the same offer as Lincoln this weekend - bit ironic because we drove through Lincoln last Sunday and would have called in!

Seems a bit tight-fisted on their part to charge for the update to improve focus issues considering the money spent on buying the lens.
