Fixing up a kitchen dresser and want to add a light into it. Issue is the unit will be fixed up against a double socket and won't have any access to plugs after so not sure what the best way to go about it.... I was thinking of adding in some led tape light but how can I hook this up to double socket and be able to switch it on/off when required.

Thanks !

the led tape runs off a plug transformer. ago plug that in for your power. then cut through the power cable and crimp/solder on a 2core cable of the same size and run that to a switch location. you need to crimp it in series with the red/brown cable. use an architrave switch :-)

Cut a hole in the back of the unit to correspond with the wall socket.

Put a false/ removeable back in the cabinet so you can access the plug. Or cut the back out exactly where the socket is and mount the fascia plate on the cabinet back and use longer screws into your existing back box.

We never cover sockets just in case anything goes wrong!
