I was a sheltered loser with no friends as a kid so i only started getting into trouble once i passed my test.

Only thing that stands out, apart from riding my un-anything (MOT/licence/insurance/tax/lights/mudguards etc) field bike on the road to get some petrol (couldn't be bothered to push it) was getting an air rifle for my 16th birthday and getting good enough to hit peoples TV aerials from quite a significant distance, with enough force to make them vibrate violently on their mounts.

I spent a whole Sunday afternoon in my garden like some anti-TV terrorist pinging peoples aerials while the F1 was on, much to their dismay.

Jumping between roofs of closely spaced 7 story buildings in Hong Kong was a favourite. Needless to say that one stopped when I slipped on take off once and only just made it.

A one time effort was to challenge my mate to race me up the same building. Me up the external drain pipes, him up the stairs. 4 floors up the pipe came lose. Luckily there was a second pipe nearby. New pants needed.

In my mid teens living in Cyprus went for an off road blast on my dilapidated dirk bike and somehow managed to find my way on to the runway of the old and heavily guarded Nicosia airport runway (serious UN camp on the Green line between Greek and Turkish Cyprus). Looking over my shoulder to discover that I was being chased by a couple of armoured vehicles was - interesting! Not quite as interesting as my hastily chosen escape route - which took me past a weathered sign politely warning of un-exploded mines in the vicinity. Twitch!

Lastly I have an old picture somewhere of me proudly holding a rusty unexplored shell that I found on an old firing range (again in Cyprus).

I'm generally a cautious chap these days - for bloody good reason.
