I was just trying to think of band names to approach it the other way - think of a name and see if I can shoe-horn it in to one of the pictures. Hasn't worked so far. British web site so that would imply we don't have to worry about obscure US bands that aren't popular here.
I've tried this approach too. Been through lists of thousands of bands and singers, cant make any logical connections.

I think its a phishing exped, trying to elicit user names and passwords from people that work on other secure sites.

People have so many 'secure' things these days, too tempting to use a user name and password that can be used elsewhere for more important things. Glad I didn't. Hard to think up and remember unique credentials.
I didn't need a password to view it I just typed my first name and nothing else..

I think the cookies save my progress. I haven't changed platforms, I'm just using my work computer to do it in the background but it remembers I still have 9/10 from last week

I thought the giraffe might somehow be Gerry Rafferty - it isn't.

Stuck on 9 also here - nothing is making any more sense after staring at those clues, all I've achieved is giving myself a headache.

They have another game with Tube stations so will be attempting that one soon.

Yes, although the Elton John is an American term for the toilet....

The tube station one was much better as there are a limited number of tube stations. On this st you could be trying to guess the site owner's brother's pub band.

This is a quiz from the future. Its time travelled.

In ten years, some young creative people desperate to find a band name that doesn't impinge someone's copywrite, will have found this thread and are going to name their bands with some of the randomly generated guesses that have been logged on here.

Bands like "wet toaster" and "lazy fekin chimps" and "Great Big wk Arm" and "Cool Moose" and "Crown Prince FishHeads" and "crashhead pussey crew".

Brilliant idea.

Might start registering those domain names now....

The whale should be Moby - but isn't.
The question mark could be The Who - but isn't.

All of these bands have existed in sixth form "battle of the bands" and student union bar gigs I am sure. Probably more than once...
