I'm a bit confused, Amazon don't use Hermes or at least i've never seen any delivery from Amazon delivered by Hermes
They do to my house. Pretty much everything from Amazon these days seems to come via Hermes. At least I know when my delivery is coming as it says "delivered" on Hermes website a couple of days before I see it...ecsrobin said:
A friends wife used to work for Amazon. The drivers would often not even get to the end of the road at the depot before unloading anything of value into a friends car. The punishment for theft from Amazon? Dismissal with no police investigation or recovery of funds!!
This was happening on a daily basis and was quite shocking hearing how blatant the theft was.
Not always the case, certainly not these days. Quick google of "Amazon theft convicted" or whatever shows this. This was happening on a daily basis and was quite shocking hearing how blatant the theft was.

Amazon have stopped using royal mail , yodel etc and have decided to use self employed drivers ie hermes as there cheaper.
no they haven't - I had an order arrive via RM last Friday. So, this made me laugh. Got it on Friday.
It didn't arrive, of course.
Also, have you ever seen a delivery driver with this body language?

I had an order delivered by Amazon Logistics on Saturday. It was handed to me and I was asked to sign on a handheld device. The 'My Orders' page says "Handed to resident". All well and good.
Rewind a couple of weeks and Amazon Logistics left a parcel on my doorstep in full view while I was out. The 'My Orders' page says "Handed to resident"... Luckily it was still there when I returned home, but if not I imagine their answer would be "Our records show it was handed to you"... I have no proof that I wasn't home when it was delivered.

A TV was delivered to me by Amazon I wasn't in so they left it with next door. The funny thing is I hadn't ordered a TV, they should have delivered it to ***** street not ***** place. The two addresses are about 5 miles apart. My neighbour dropped it off to the correct address later that day.
I can't see you being that fortunate I'm afraid.
Same thing happened to my wife. Supposed to be delivered to ******fields and delivered to ******lane which was also about 3 miles away. We actually had to go round to the other address (after we got the delivery info from them - no passport needed for that) and get the item from their house. They didn't look like they were in any rush to bring it to us though.I can't see you being that fortunate I'm afraid.
I suspect what you've put above OP about the "East" and "West" point may provide you with some answers - have your checked your opposite numbers address on the same estate?
I've had a similar issue before, though not with a TV. Item was 'delivered', Amazon said they would check, they came back and told me it was delivered and to check with neighbours, I asked which ones (I had around 40 to choose from!). No dice. Amazon did nothing to help me, then the parcel turned up 2 days later while I was out, all previous tracking relating to it being delivered was gone, and the actual delivery time was there.
Set of weights in a pretty box, were delivered to work for me. Well at least the box was. Somewhere in the delivery chain from the Amazon seller in Germany, someone decided they would quite like them. Removed the items from the box and resealed the bottom and completed delivery. They had used different coloured tape when they had resealed it and I got an empty cardboard box (thought it seemed light and I thought I might have to fill the plastics with water or sand, opened it in the mail-room, so I had witnesses).
Seller wasn't interested as he had personally weighed it and posted it. In the end Amazon used their own A-Z clause to refund me.
(Bought cheaper from Argos in the end - how council!)

...also they HATE looking bad on social media. If you are on twitter etc.. ask them (@amazon) why they are doing what they are doing. They employ people just to smooth the waters on such websites and may well get you a swift result.
I had a big spat with BMW in 2001 and it was getting it into Autocar that made BMW cave in and pay me what they owed.

Asking directly (and with a tad of sauce) on twitter normally provides fast response.

I've even tried emailing a couple of companies and saying "before I post this on Facebook etc..." and you still get a crap response.
This is worrying. I was due a delivery of a £700 screen today which hasn't turned up. No tracking numbers sent so no way to trace. The Amazon seller now has no items listed for sale on Amazon so I'm starting to smell a fish. Is there any difference in Compensation available through a credit card if bought from an Amazon third party seller rather than from Amazon themselves?

You are covered on a credit card whoever you buy from. But take up with Amazon first. We had a £500 set of Bose speakers 'lost' last week. It was showing as out for delivery but never arrived. Thankfully we received a full refund but I am guessing the courier ran off with it
Out of interest for those having issues with expensive items, are you in the Birmingham area? I only have issues with Amazon Logistics deliveries if I am at work in Birmingham but not at home in Basingstoke.
