Hi all
anyone ordered a 991 GT3 chin lip spoiler from an OPC ?

What's the going rate ?

Assuming that they are pretty simple to fit - going on past 996/997 experience !

scraped mine pretty badly yesterday

Unless its hanging off the car, I wouldn't bother replacing it. It will only get scraped again.

I scrape mine all the time, going up driveways, bottoming out on country roads, speed humps in Switzerland etc etc

Have thought many times about replacing it but then I think it will only get knackered again!

Sorry......not being much help am I? hehe

no, not really laugh !

actually managed to bend it right back - small kerb hidden in a grass verge.
its scuffed badly on the top right under the centre grill, about 18" in width
scuffs underneath dont bother me but this looks rough !

Fair enough thumbup

Have you tried some Armor all Back to black on it? It might make it a little more presentable while you wait for the replacement to arrive.

Depending on the extent of the scuff a smart repair could be an option, I've seen some amazing results on plastic trim or give an OPC a call and ask for a price

OPC told me £150 fitted. Apparently it is treated as a consumable. When I had Astons the chin spoiler on a V8S was made in CF. Cost £4000 Plus VAT plus fitting!!! eek

Aston Martin dealers are knob heads! biggrin ......well the one I went to is..... I walked in and tried to open the door to a V12 Vantage and the st face salesman shouted over the showroom "PLEASE DON'T TOUCH THE CARS THANK YOU!!!" He then rolled his eyes at the receptionist and smiled weakly at the customers he was dealing with.

thanks for all the comments;

I'll give the local OPC a call today re cost & availability

Carnewal do them for E130, plus shipping and tax

I've bunged some aerospace 303 trim stuff on it & it looks a bit better, though the gouges are pretty big !

I'm basically a fussy bugger !

Kul that is typical. It's not just Aston dealers. I had a horrendous experience with a Jaguar Dealership.
Anyway what are you doing looking at Astons? Take it from me stick with Porsche.

Yep! Sticking with my 911 for the foreseeable future Rob, this was a while back when I was interested in getting a V12 Vantage.

Still love the look of the V12 but don't like the build quality and running costs or the dealers!

Are you up for doing Wales in October?

Correct answer Kul, my last Aston, 27 faults in 8 months that's not counting the continued unresolved modification faults. Regarding Scotland, we will have just returned from a hoon in darkest Scotland so it's unlikely though not impossible. My car will have done 8,500 miles by then. smokin

and that is exactly why I've stayed away from Astons !

I got brave last night, and attached the lip with varying grades of wet & dry

its by no means perfect, but from standing over it, you can't see the marks now.

I was quite surprised at the results personally.

bunged on some trim sealant and job done !
ordering a new lip today

Good man clap

If you are relatively happy with your existing spoiler I would suggest you store the new one away somewhere and use the existing one as a sacrificial lamb while you figure out which speed bumps/ car parks / driveways you need to be extra careful on when you put your new spoiler on.

drives / camber / speed bumps are OK as it has the front axle lift
problem came with a hidden kerb edge in some grass

Looks pretty damn good if I do say so myself - so much so I think i'll reward myself with a nice bottle of red smile
