We had terror bomb drills when I was in primary school (90s).

But that was usually someone putting in a hoax call, and it was executed as a fire drill would have been.

Which confused my childhood brain, what if the bomb was in the playground?

Frankie Goes To Hollywood sounds a bit different than I remember.

Yep, we did one or two of these drills but they seemed to culminate in heading for the hall or gym. Maybe to keep all the bodies in one place for easy identification?
However, my school was well within the blast radius of an attack on one of our major naval ports, so they were pretty pointless really. We would have been less than dust within seconds.
They still ensure that iodine tablets are stocked if one of the visiting vessels is nuclear powered.

I'm 45 and in my first year of school in Gibraltar we certainly had air raid drills at least twice - and yes, we hid under the desks. The proximity of the navy base would of course have rendered hiding anywhere entirely pointless but we didn't know that, and I guess in the face of a conventional bombing raid at least it would keep you safe from flying glass.

We watched threads at junior school
Me and a bunch of coworkers watched it some years back, together with Trinity, mainly because we were a huge bunch of nerds with an interest in all sorts of tech stuff

Calling Threads "a touch unnerving" is putting it lightly...
