Archaeological and palaeontological evidence indicate that hominins began to increase meat consumption by at least 2.6 million years ago (Ma) (ref. 7), and until the invention of agriculture, meat was an indispensable component of human diets
Nature said:
Chimpanzees reportedly spend approximately 5–11 h chewing small (~4 kg) animals 19, and although the carcasses include hide, cartilage and other tough tissues, such lengthy times highlight the challenges of masticating unprocessed meat using low-crested teeth

ell, that's just crap. Forgive me if I ignore the rubbish you can dig up on Google (after all, you can Google links that tell you crystal healing works), and stick with Harvard.

For example, 90 percent of Asians, 70 percent of blacks and Native Americans, and 50 percent of Hispanics are lactose intolerant, compared to only about 15 percent of people of Northern European descent.
I'd say we've evolved differently to become more lactose-tolerant.Hello, I'm an omnivore.
I eat fruit, meat, vegetables and erm, pretty much anything because I like the taste. I'm entirely happy eating a juicy, tender, fillet steak in the same way that I'm happy eating a giant portobello mushroom stuffed with different cheeses, onions and shallots.
On a recent camping trip with a vegan friend, I made the effort to eat a vegan diet for a few days and it was all good stuff. It wasn't a hardship to do so and it didn't taste bad. He has some really strong opinions about the meat industry and it made no difference to my happiness to avoid non-vegan things for those days. We can all get along.
I don't believe there's anything wrong with the things I eat. I'm not going to advocate for either side in the same way that I'm going to be swayed by either side but please, please don't get religious about your particular dietary habits; it's not your job to advocate or preach about possible benefits or ethical standpoints. Make your choice and be happy with it without trying to make people feel about their particular choice.

I'll lob this in here. A vegan who'll happily eat roadkill gets a big thumbs up from me.
