Going back to bed didn't last long.

Don't know what to do now,I had today all mapped out.

Was going to Rallyday at Castle Combe, not been for years.

Still haven't.

Not sure what the score is in Holland Vittie, but do you not have the equivalent of 'Go Compare' or 'Compare the Market' (Meerkat? Pelican?) type things?

Might be able to get a chunk knocked off the premium by shopping around chap?

Yeah, but now is just a tiny bit too late.

I know i can save some money by sorting out my utilities and insurance, but that doesnt fix the fact that my "fix up the place or go on vacation" budget for the coming month is nuked... My motivation was pretty much 0 right now to begin with.

Let me make a note: Couldn't organise a modest celebration in a popular off licence.

This evening I'm off to do a marathon around London. It's a walk but it is the full 26 miles 385 yards. I do a lot for charidee, Nicey, but I don't like to talk about it.

I'm starting to get a little nervous. It will be about 8/9 hours of walking. Three weeks ago, I got tendinitis in my right knee.

Ahoy. Two bees and a generous glass of fizz means this boat show is not half bad.

Morning all. Friend of mine is thinking of buying a narrowboat so I'm going with him to have a look at one. I know bugger all about narrowboats but it should be interesting all the same.
Why does he want a narrow Boat? It's like living in a floating underground carriage!!

Boats are all about width & 6 & a bit foot isn't any good imo, as they say ' never mind the quality, feel the width!!

Seriously though chap, make sure if he buys one its not by a 'boat builder' in Rickmansworth, calls them Legend's, he used to build them on Common Moor & used a forklift truck to bend the bow (pointy end to you land lubbers!) into shape!!

Also tell him to have an independent survey carried out on the hull & get a new BSC on it.

You should have taken Penrose, fking Pelican, I'd have been interested to see the result of some pugilism between him & a few swans & geesepunch

Thanks for the pointers there Jim, I'll pass the info on to him.

Had a look at the boat - quite a nice old thing but not my idea of fun really. I think Jim's description of a floating tube train.about sums it up really!

Thought it best to leave Penrose at home today...

Quality & width here!! 11'6 if relevant, but nfg on the Oxford Canal!!

Might also be worth reminding him that mooring fees are payable all year round & you can't just moor it on the towpath, have to move it every 2 weeks on canals & 96 hours on the Thames.

Can't believe you left that 'FP' at home, unless you knew he would be outgunned somewhat!!!
