The other other half?

Good question. An expedition to Los Angeles is required. Ooh, ooh! We can have an excursion to the bottom of Sunset Boulevard to see the steps Laurel and Hardy struggled up with the piano.

Storm Doris is kicking off fine style here at the moment. Even the old dog's reluctant to venture out.

A piano called Thomas?

I've been to the dentist; I can confirm that I have teeth and they're all mine, at least for the moment.

I just came across a picture of one of the products we were asked to evaluate for the UK market when I worked for Mitsubishi Pro-Audio smile

Cone diameter is 160CM!
High pass filter cut off at 8Hz (so response 3dB down at 8Hz.
Max input 3000W.

They hurt!

Not after nine cans of diamond white and a tattoo you wont remember having they wont be. The front ones will be the property of the bouncer at Trixies Nightclub.

They should have been! Absolute crazy levels of bass!

ELP sent a roadie down to pick up a pair to try out. He turned up with a Luton-bodied transit... Couldn't even fit one in there! biggrin

Fourteen years of struggling to raise my kids as a single parent with no financial or moral support from their Father, last week my middle son was offered a place in the sixth form at a prestigious private school having been, for want of a better phrase, head hunted/watched by them since he was 11. Less than an hour ago, after working ten hours, doing housework and sorting out paperwork I found out the majority of the fees will be paid for him by the school after finding an unopened envelope in with their placement offer letter. I've been in tears since. No one is awake to share this with so I'm posting here.
Hurrah! Chuffed for you both! smile

Thursday:

Dropped kids at nursery.
Drove three hours to Est Grinstead.
Solved issues with supplier that will enable shipment of product that will help us towards looming month end targets.
Drive two and half hours back, avoiding M4 fires, blowing debris and fallen trees in my carriageway, all while averaging 39.5 mpg.
Collected kids from nursery.
Bed time routing completed alone as wife at work still.

So far so good.

Found out that neighbour has been given the all clear from her cancer.

Frikkin' ace. smile

Your wife has a still at work?

Result.

Is it disguised as anything? Or is it like the one in Hawkeye and Trapper John's tent in MASH?

Aww thanks for all the kind words! I was just awake and alone and wanted to share. Cheers all.

To add we've been awarded a bursary to cover the majority of fees. I still need to look down the back of the sofa for a few thousand extra a year and sell what's left of my soul but I'll do it.

Today I also found out my youngest has been accepted to study Latin. Long story but I'm so pleased/proud for him too.

Concealed in plain sight DC, it's the best way; bluff it out, claim that it's just a fancy samovar and the odd smell is just the fuel for the burner.

Yes. This. I think.

I've had wine so I'm off to bed now, ready for my 04:## wake up call courtesy of the child that is claiming to be my son, but as I like sleep I have my doubts.

Regarding the alert that comes up when I log out. I see it says "Signing Out" not "Singing Out."

No more shall I torment the house with my renditions of popular songs as the machine closes down.

In the same vein I have just realised I have been misreading the workshop lathe instructions: 'as work proceeds use a bin to remove the dwarf'

Apologies to my short neighbour who hasn't spoken to me for some time now since the fracas.
