Blimey, quiets in here :
Longstanding TT'ers may recall that Princess Senior has historically been a "struggler" in that despite her considerable hard work and dedication, her grades were always less than her general school work merited. This is a kid who had three years worth of private speech therapy from aged 4 to 7, and was "allegedly" a little "spectrum". No "As" at GCSE (although three were missed by 2%, we lost the appeals).
However, her AS results in the Summer were the best she's ever achieved and after the fifteen drafts of her personal statement, she fired her UCAS form off last month. One rejected her outright (No.1 department in the country for Drama) but the other four asked her to attend auditions/interviews. One was last week, the others are in Jan/Feb.
She now has an offer from the No.2 department in the country (after a presentation/group improvisation workshop) for one of only forty places!!
It is, admittedly a tough offer, but whether or not she accepts it, or goes for it, I have quite simply never ever been so happy for her or so proud of her Sorry, but I just had to let this out

As the least acedemic person posting, may I say how impressed I am by anyone prepared to struggle to achieve heavyweight qualifications? I didn't have it in me but greatly admire anyone who does.
Should we raise a glass to the Champette? I think so.
Me neither Dicky, it all came rather too easy and I took it for granted, until nearly sacked three months into my articles, pulled socks up and 28 years later........ 7 hours in the office today busily plotting how to build 12,000 new houses on greenfield land; someone's got to do it Should we raise a glass to the Champette? I think so.
The Champette's work ethic is almost beyond description, I have tried to help her (as has Mrs Champers) but she has taken what talent she has, overcome her obstacles, and driven herself (worryingly at times) to make this happen; I sit back exhausted sometimes watching her; yesterday she was in the Christmas show for the charity she helps, teaching kids with learning difficulties and disabilities, and tomorrow, in keeping with the Schools's tradition, she is the Upper Sixth girl singing solo the first verse of the first carol at the School's Carol service in the parish church, attended by the Mayor and an audience of about 400.
So sorry to gush, but the GCSE results were a bh and she was robbed of the sixth form drama scholarship So go girl
What I said earlier about missing all the McLarens today....
There is now pics of them after coming out of hiding, all lined up in vacant space on the pit straight.
What time did they decide to reveal themselves ?
Spose people should stay longer but in December and freezing your extremities off, people are not going to
stay all morning.
Nice pic of 4 other cars lined up on grid slots though.

As praise for offspring seems to be 'De rigeur ' this evening, well done Champette btw, I have just returned from seeing daughter singing Christmas Carols in her school year choir at the local God bothering centre.
A very uplifting experience I must say, unfortunately she was sat in the front row & did 3 or 4 unmissable yawns when others in the congregation did their Bible readings.
Absolutely no idea why or where she has got such a low boredom threshold for religion!!
Ask me why I never did a Religious Education class beyond year 2 at Secondary School & spent the time in the 2nd Masters study.
