I forgot to mention my success at getting autographs on my programme cover last weekend.
I got 9 but they're all a bit crap as my pen was a bit crap, which some of them mentioned.

I got...
Alain de Cadenet
David Brabham
Tim Harvey
Tiff Needell
Andy Priaulx
Dario Franchitti
Gerhard Berger
Colin Turkington

And the one I really wanted to get
Roberto Ravaglia

Could have got a few more if I tried harder....nerd

The motoring section of msn news invites me to contemplate what it would be like to be Clarkson's girlfriend.

A bit awkward, if I'm honest.

Food poisoning from Thursday's dinner probably.

I doubled up in the kitchen a while back, I think it was the broccoli and nut hash Battert had kindly provided the previous evening.

I should have been more wary of the 'Contains Traces of Squirrel' label on it.

Folks who visit the Mazda rotary specialist out the back arrive in all sorts of different cars, many of them remarkably non-sporting. Camper vans are popular. I see them as support vehicles. Yesterday, however, as a refreshing change, a chap arrived in an early MR2. It was nice to see. When I said to the owner they're getting a bit scarce he said it is even rarer than it looked. It has the six speed sequential gearbox.

It had something else I've always fancied in a car; the rag ends of scrutineers' tickets.

Indeed they do. Old friend of mine had a C reg one, circa 1985 I think. I had a Capri 2.8i at the same time.

The MR2 was much better at the twisty bits, the Capri would leave it behind on the straight.

Used to be interesting. Good Lord, I never realised the farmer kept sheep in that field...
