Tell us something really trivial about your life (Vol 28)

Pretty grim down south today imo.
FiL has taken a turn for the worse I'm afraid & is now unable to use right hand & also unable to walk, probably due to a tumour in his back & his lungs are filling again from the earlier pneumonia.
He is awaiting a 'medical bed' at the nursing home today & has agreed for us to sell his car, instruct an Estate agent & sadly signed a DNR notice.
Have to say my 8 year old daughter played a blinder again as when she found out she would be lodged with Grandma, rather than see Grandad, she had a bit of a melt down because she was excited that she would be able to draw pictures for the residents said 'Well Grandma shouldn't be left on her own' Wish I knew where she got this attitude for one so young!

Sorry to read this, Jim. I hope that things resolve as painlessly as possible, for all!FiL has taken a turn for the worse I'm afraid & is now unable to use right hand & also unable to walk, probably due to a tumour in his back & his lungs are filling again from the earlier pneumonia.

Indeed, can only echo the sentiments there Jim.Corned beef and salad cream? Must admit I do like a corned beef sandwich with a nice bit of English mustard.
Do like a bit of salad cream too though, haven't had any for ages. Lovely with a cheese salad sandwich.
Bugger it, I think I'll nip to the Co-Op and get a bottle. Must settle my bar tab with Frank too whilst I'm out.
This afternoon I drove to Basingstoke to collect a student's broken down and undriveable Fiesta coming back under complaint. It's the second complaint. I was to call if the collection wasn't going to be today. Last time his mum organised for the car to be on the drive and the key on top of a tyre. ThIs time the drive was empty and no one answered the door. So I phoned the mobile number.
"Hello, I'm here to collect your car."
"You're at the house!?!"
"Yes."
"I'm at college."
"You're at college."
"Yes, I needed to use the car to get here."
"So, not all that broken down, then?"
"Huh?"
"What time do you normally get home from college?"
"About five."
"Okay, I'll come back at five."
"Well, not tonight, I'm going to work."
"Okay, what time do you get in from work?"
"About half past eight. Is that too late?"
"Could you call the office and arrange a time tomorrow?
"Or Wednesday?"
"Yes. Or Wednesday."
Students. I tell ya.

Could you come to mine instead then as I have a sort of broken and undrivable Fiesta too.
Hasn't moved in 13 months ,needs battery and a cambelt ,not snapped but rather overdue and MUST be
replaced before trying to start engine as I fear the belt might fail when the engine jolts back to life.
EML light is also on ,brakes a little stuck ,the list continues.
One careless owner from new....

Might I suggest that your Guvnor introduces a penalty clause in his warranty scheme for time wasters?"Hello, I'm here to collect your car."

'Clawback for Cocks' I reckon.
£60 per hour or part thereof. All proceeds towards a caravan holiday in Mablethorpe.

Thanks Mc Andy, Bomma & all.We will see what happens but good news will not be forthcoming i fear. Also seems Mrs Jim AK is expected to pick up the slack for her 2 siblings.
ION; Boat is done, best part of a Bag unfortunately & I now need to find about 14 hours to get the thing from Laleham to Maidenhead..... Never rains does it?
Mabel Thorpe, The bird that occasionally `dances` in the B & L on Fridays?
