MeteoGroup forecaster Callum Stewart said: 'Storm Doris's rapid development is forecast to see its air pressure drop by around 30 milibars in 24 hours, known as "explosive cyclogenesis" or, by some, as a "weather bomb".
A weather bomb is when pressure drops 24 mb over 24 hours. So technically the forecast is correct for a weather bomb.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Explosive_cyclogenes...
Ah FFS, not looking forward to this, and am gonna be right in the middle of it by the looks of it - how does this compare to the Valentine's Day storm a few years back? That was a particularly scary one when the entire roof of the bungalow behind us came off and flipped over onto his driveway

80mph winds are possible, probably confined to peaks and coastal areas, so not outrageously high. It's predicted the strongest winds shouldn't last for too long compared to other storms. More likely 50-60mph inland.Update - all of England, barring the far north, now covered by yellow warning for wind (at least).
