Tues evening beginning to look like the first widespread snow - current snow map shows anywhere elevated in Scotland along with the Pennines in the firing line. I'm due to drive a hirecar from Edinburgh to York - should I go inland? hehe

Calling in at the Tan Hill Inn for lunch on the way down is what I'd be doing if I were you. wink

Strange weather this weekend up in the South Pennines. Bright and clear yesterday but very windy.
Today the wind had dropped but it was dull and cold with sleet, snow and rain all day.
You could post that weather report in June. hehe

No frost here in Herts, it's now warmed up as it's been raining quite a bit over night.

The sea is freezing over here now, but no proper snow yet - there's been no/ almost no precipitation for the last month or so, frown

Keeping an eye on developments in the 10-14 day time period. Obviously way, way, way too far to call anything at the moment - but with the current situation, we're at a point where it's far more likely for things to happen than in the previous 2 or 3 years (that leaves us at 10% instead of 5% wink ). Let's wait and see.

I'm not going to get too het up about anything until early / mid December. We are still way early for the vast majority of the UK to start seeing any snow

Apologies!
I started a reply ages ago, but got interrupted. By the time I submitted it, you had made your very useful and informative post.

I'll stick my neck out and say that there will be no snow falling south of about Leicester before December 10th.

I'd love to be wrong!

Spalding had some light sleet a few hours ago. It was very light though, sort of like tiny little bits floating around.

0 degrees forecast for tomorrow. That big band of rain/snow looks interesting though.
