A few flakes in the breeze in Port Solent now, just started. Probably stop soon.

We had a fair bit yesterday. About 5cm on top of the cars. Didn't last long, and the heavier stuff we got last night didn't settle.

Moors around Cat will be quiet. Think I'll take the dog up there. Snake Pass, about 15 miles N, is shut due to snow.

Thin layer of snow had settled in Leigh on Sea yesterday but had all melted by this morning, drove back to Hertfordshire to my parents and there's a bit of snow but also now melting.

Still, at least I saw some this winter!

Dog enjoyed the snow, and there were very few people about. About -6 with windchill, mind.

Highway ahead is closed for heavy snow and deep drifts.
Thank God the roads have a good sheen of ice on them!

Coquihalla highway BC.

There are chances of a Greenland high bringing a direct northerly and a cold start to March. Low probability, but it exists.

I'm down in Guernsey for a couple of days - it's a balmy 10 degrees and sunny. No more snow disappointment please, bring on Spring!

It's February. It's winter. You can have grey and rainy, cold and dry or snow. Warm weather isn't something that's usually associated with February.

11 degrees, bright and sunny today in South Hants. Similar temperature tomorrow, but with a little cloud cover apparently.

Looks like its going to be mild for a week or two at least, doesn't seem much in the way of rain forecast either.

I love the cold, I love frost and mega sub zero temperatures. However, I'm longing for spring now and that first Saturday afternoon where, having cut the lawns, I can stand in the back garden in jeans and a polo shirt, enjoying a cold bottle of beer with with sun warming my shoulders...

I'm pretty sure this is a quote from Shawshank Redemption.

It's gone for this season, let it go. (biggrin)

The weather geeks over at netweather still keep trying to pull out charts from many decades ago which offer the slightest glimmer of hope, but in reality it's not been anywhere near cold enough.

The pathetic sprinkling on Saturday was just to mock us, something I realised as I drove home through the drizzle whilst the car proudly proclaimed it was 2 degrees C outside yesterday.

I'm thankful for the lack of the constant pounding Atlantic storms this year, but I'm also realistic that we're going to be knocking on the door of Easter soon enough.

Some frosty mornings left? Very likely.
Ground frozen for days on end? Not a chance.
