I remember when I lived in Yorkshire I used to deliberately go out driving when it was snowing for fun and everyone usually got on with things. Down south in Surrey it rains and everything grinds to a halt.
I also lived in Yorkshire during the early 90s, just north of Bradford and one very snowy day I got stuck at the bottom of a hill, I had a 5 series which was as much use as a chocolate teapot. Two teenagers stopped to help, they only looked about 18 and had a brand new Range Rover, I was very grateful for their help in pulling me up a steep hill. Thought it was a bit odd that two such young kids could have the insurance on a Range Rover.Next day the local paper reported that it had been nicked from a garage forecourt.

I think winter is now over in southern Derbyshire, not that we had anything that was even remotely wintery anyway, we've not had snow for years and its not even been cold really either, just damp and mild mostly. Crappiest winter I can ever remember.
Not over up here... pregnant sheep are well pissed off.glenrobbo said:
Started snowing here near Stockport, Cheshire about 15 mins ago, just a few flakes falling on wet ground.
Now it's really coming down heavily, HUGE big clumps and the road and cars are getting covered.
I don't think I'll be heading over the Cat & Fiddle today.
Quite wise by all accounts. Few inches of snow in Buxton. Nicked from http://www.buxtonweather.co.uk/Now it's really coming down heavily, HUGE big clumps and the road and cars are getting covered.

Had a proper frost this morning, full big swirls of thick ice on the cars. (Henley)
We had a light frost on the south coast. I can't believe Puggit hasn't been bigging this snow up for the last 10 days. Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
