Gorgeous here today in Cheshire today, the weather the last three months or so has been amazing, still in a t shirt in late October, stunning colours and autumnal aromas, pleasure to be out and about, making the most of it.

Lovely day in Herts too, but it'll be nice to see some frost when it comes.

Been frosty here for a while now. It's meant we're starting to get the really long crystals which can be 2cm+.

Still no snow new snow though, and none forecast this week, so going to have to find some old snow for my monthly skiing challenge by the looks of it.

October has been spot on 30 year average so far, in fact it's the coldest month relative to average since April.

Had 3 slight frosts so far on south coast.

Hardly T-shirt weather, in fact yesterday morning on the Downs the E wind was chilling to the bone.

Looks like rest of October will be slightly milder.

Long term forecast are indeed hinting at a cool spell in Nov. - max day temps mid single figures so probably not that cold.

Arctic has been crazy warm recently and it was hard to see where any really cold air would come from but it has cooled rapidly in the last few days so maybe there will be a winter after all!

Slow moving showers this morning, pin sharp sunset this evening with some lovely autumn colour.

Still no polar vortex over Greenland. Could be a very different winter up ahead smile

Plenty of signs of a cool spell coming up, including first snow on the Peak District.

Still hot in Florida wink

Whatever happens just no more wind and rain like winter. Quite enjoying the dry spell and lack of wind at the moment.

Finally the snow is arriving. Stunning light, but not the best skiing on the way down, biggrin

Very much enjoying some of the photography here, chaps! Please keep it up...

Meanwhile the colours darn sarf are fabulous and by mid morning all the tweety-birds are calling like it's Spring time already.

Thank goodness we don't depend on wind driven turbines for the leccy...

Quite foggy this morning, and when I was driving home this evening there was still some very low-level fog swirling around the hills.

I do love this time of year cloud9

Stonking down here today, more like August. I reckon it was low 20s in my garden this afternoon. Cooler by mid week I think.

Looks like it could be quite chilly over night this week. Not sure if it'll be cold enough for a first frost here in Herts though.

First ice on the screen here this morning... had to remember where I stored the can of de-icer back in the Spring!

This side of Christmas continues to look interesting - a totally different start to the season compared to most years. The polar vortex is nowhere near it's normal home and Europe/Asia continues to cool down early, while North America is much warmer than usual.

It could all mean nothing, but it's better signs than normal! My flight from Orlando to Gatwick was late in yesterday, we actually had a head wind for some of the Atlantic crossing instead of the normal jet stream pushing us along.

Chilly this morning. 2 degrees when I left. Windscreens iced up for the first time this season.
I enjoyed the pre-heat facility on my plug-in! (oo-er).
