I know some people (father and sons) who were called in to help oust some travellers from some land where they'd outstayed their welcome.

They waited until the travellers went to the local pub, as they did every Sunday regular as clockwork, and whilst gone, the blokes I know went to the site and cut all their caravans and motor homes into pieces with circular saws and chainsaws.
This didn't happen.
I don't think anyone believes it did.
Delayed reply because I've had a busy weekend due to the Golovkin v Brook fight.

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Under my former screen name I mention it on page 7. The conversation continues in the following pages and then another poster Chillistrucker who must have lived in the area at the time, recalled it and knew where and when it happened and saw the aftermath etc.

Berlintaxi, Thankyouforcalling, Shaw Tarse, 98elise... You want custard too? fking keyboard warriors.

Perhaps you should read some of my other posts on that thread. It should provide an insight into the circles I move in and why I have no need to act big on the Internet and call people out. Unlike yourselves...
Wow, you saw some polaroids, well in that case I'm completely convinced, not.

They used to camp on the road to the MAN / ERF factory in middlewich, some bright spark at the council thought I know, we'll paint double yellow lines when they've gone and put concrete obstacles on the grass , that'll stop them

next time I went down there were 30 caravans on the double yellows and the obstacles were concrete square pipe sections that were just the right height for a picnic table so they were all sat round them eating

one time I did see a caravan left after they'd gone, on it's side full of holes from a pickaxe

It would though be interesting to know what address they are all insured at though, considering they have no fixed abode. Insurance claims must be interesting. There is probably a house in Wales with 1500 vehicles "parked outside" hehe
Don't they all have houses in Rathkeale?

Have a look on google streetview, it's an eyeopener. yikes

fk. Me! If you told me that was Bulgaria I'd believe you, looks an utter, utter st whole!
I think it's important to be honest and recognise that those views are of streets far nicer, cleaner and orderly than very many streets in the UK full of dumped sofas, mattresses and dossers.

What those pictures really show is that they actually do know how to roof a house, Tarmac a drive and build walls. biggrin

Would have been 11-12 years ago roughly. A load of s set up on the little cricket club opposite the crown pub. They were there for a while, then 1 day the site had been abandoned, and all that was left were the remains of caravans that had literally been chopped up into bits :0
Its a brave bunch that take on the travellers.

Basildon, vange, and laindon and pitsea were the main areas I drove a cab for 2 years, and your right wink

I used to drive past there while we were renting temporary offices in the ERF building as our own building had burned down. I remember the various bits of mess, pushchairs in the middle of the road, driving past now and again noticing someone squatting down behind a caravan, and an abandoned new Transit or similar van with all the windows put through and every panel dented after they'd left.

In my field ! So these feckers have taken occupancy in my field today, what are the chances hey ?, they were "just passing through and pulled in for a night or two ".Where the 6 metre section of fence has gone remains a mystery ! Obviously they're not responsible.
There are 14 caravans and around 20 vehicles, mainly Transits sign written with the usual Landscaping and Roofing signage. I paid them a visit a short time ago and got the expected reception from a fat prick with three weeks of cooked breakfast spillage down his shirt. Now despite getting on in years at 6ft 7 I've never taken any crap and told the ever gathering crowd to move on with immediate effect, their alternatives were £500 pounds per night per vehicle and as a gesture I would put security on the perimeter to ensure their welfare and security and collect their parking fees before they left.
It might be an interesting day tomorrow, the last time I had an 'infestation' in a neighbouring field they destroyed a section of drystone wall, left a ton of rubbish and a line of st (the human stuff) behind a hedge. I'm also awaiting a call returning from a neighbour with a muck spreader.

Anybody else had experience of unwanted guests ?
You think that's bad?I've got 5 adult fat bd versions of them staying upstairs from me in a private let!Oh what fun! It's like i'm staying in the middle of a camp!

Just think how much grief a few drone strikes could remove if targeted, say, on 25th Dec.

Ok, so not PC. But this is an issue the Government needs to solve for good sometime soon.

PS. I have also been a victim of their 'way of life'.
I'd quite happily point the laser designator for the airdrop, zero issues with sleeping afterwards

At one of the steam rallies last year I got chatting with a gypsy about woodcraft, the use of wood joints. Construction of my vintage caravan and its repair, he told me that he still makes from scratch gypsy bow top caravans. Spent an hour or so chatting, just prior to his leaving he asked me if I was going to the beer marquee later to which I replied yes. He strongly advised that I shouldn't. Leave my water jacks out 'as the bds are here, the ones that give us a bad name'.

Add to that the occasion gypy family employed me to provide my wedding car service for their daughter. Paid in full upon my arrival, my part of the day went well. Dropped off the Bride and Groom at their reception venue at which point they both sincerely thanked me for their wedding car service and invited me into their reception to help myself to as much food and drinks as I wished. Unfortunately I had to be away to prepare for a booking that evening.

Just saying this as a balance between true gypy folk and the 'others'. Please don't tar them all with the same brush.

I know it used to be bad for the truck drivers delivering parts at night, they'd stand in the road trying to get the trucks to stop so they could "buy" diesel from the drivers, one ran a dog over once and got chased down the road

I think if I'd got a parking ticket in Middlewich I'd have dragged the warden up there by his ear and insist they get the same treatment

This popped up on one the local facebook groups i go on.
A bit of back ground.
A local Pub Restaurant was shut for a week as a group of Pikexs took off the pub car park and did there usual of trashing everything and leaving piles of crap around.

This morning I went down to the Shepherds for breakfast and stood chatting with the boss about the traveller problem they've just had.... I was truly shocked by the treatment the staff have had , and had the boss and her daughters fearing for their lives after being assaulted with forks etc !!! Poor woman has bruises and holes all up her arms etc .....
I want to commend her for having the balls to get cleaned up and get things back to normal so quickly after the travellers were moved on ...
Leaving rubbish etc behind is disgusting on its own but to assault people is low, trying to climb the roof to break into living quarters leaving the boss and her daughters no option but to drive off and spend the night in a car park is shocking . And do know what even after all that she still defended most of them as being lovely polite people who sat very quietly with their children having meals .... not sure I could say the same after going through all that !!
Well done to her and her wonderful staff for their dedication , and if anyone is friends with any staff please feel free to tag them on this

They turned up in my old village playing field a couple of years ago. Broke into the Pavilion which was paid for by fund raising events, stole the copper pipes out of it. Left the cricket field as a st tip, and I mean st. st here there and everywhere. Oh, and a rabbit hutch they'd picked up from a locals garden (you can guess what happened to the rabbit). The clean up took a couple of weeks.

Lovely people.

No football training or matches for the local kids here due to a sudden infestation. A couple of weeks ago they set up in the leisure centre car park and made that a no-go area. Yet a few miles away we have a designated site for them, it's full though because they only travel locally to commit crime.

http://m.morleyobserver.co.uk/news/local/traveller...

Years ago they took over a "wildlife corridor" for a month and destroyed it. Now it has massive unsightly boulders lining the perimeter to keep them out.

Noticed the local story in a bigger local paper and on Facebook, a comment appeared...

One thing I struggle with is that they buy caravans with sinks and toilets but then take them out because they aren't "pure" - yet they will sh*t in a bush. Now the councils bring them skips and portable toilets when they arrive.

This is a major part of the problem. They see no problem with what their way of life does to others.
It is not a concern to them as they have no shame! It almost seems to be a game to them. 'How much can we get away with'.

Interesting to know how many of those houses in Ireland are in receipt of benefits?

It would be quite an eye opener for the law makers to find out what the total cost to the community is of these people's 'way of life'. I suspect it would make the headline grabbing figures paid to some benefits claimants, highlighted a while back, look puny.

Even without the obvious names smile

Some interesting stuff being added though, aside from the obvious travelling types responding and telling everyone that non-caravan people are filth you have a couple of supposed escapees. I'd love to engage with people on there and ask about where they had a poo this morning with no toilets or where they are getting water from but it's too close for comfort and my wife would tell me off smile
