One thing I struggle with is that they buy caravans with sinks and toilets but then take them out because they aren't "pure" - yet they will sh*t in a bush. Now the councils bring them skips and portable toilets when they arrive.
On the gypsy wedding program it said they even leave the shipping plastic on the seats in their caravans and the wifes job is to make sure that everything is immaculate at all times. I guess this is why there is a huge amount of crap (of both kinds) outside of the caravans. Turquoise said:
Perhaps you should read some of my other posts on that thread. It should provide an insight into the circles I move in and why I have no need to act big on the Internet and call people out.
Where's that black man "badass" meme when you need it? I know the Bas Vegas s, experienced them loads. I was working on a job in Canvey when the Dale Farm clearances were going on. During the troubles, they turned up outside my works yard, cut off the security gates - ironically intended to keep them out! - took them off to Dale Farm, and welded them up across the entrance way so that the Police couldn't get in. A week before we had a guy in one of the excavators driving at the s in their pickup as they drove round the site scoping out all the materials and plant. We had to go as far as keeping all the manhole covers on top of the portacabins, 24 hour security, guard dogs etc. Yet ring the Police when they are on site stealing stuff, and get told "let them take it, we know who they are, don't get yourself in trouble."
They will always win.

If their kids went to school they would make less mess in and around the caravan during the day. Silly Esox.
If any normal member of society didn't send their kids to school they would soon have a knock on the door, risk being fined and having their kids taken away.Yet the children of travellers have to suffer because the authorities seem too scared to do anything about it.

As with the various vehicle-related things, though, it goes back to having no address to serve papers at. You'd have a knock on the door, they can just move their door.Yet the children of travellers have to suffer because the authorities seem too scared to do anything about it.
Not exactly Travellers, but the travelling fair is setting up in my town. I was in the sports centre alongside the fair site last night when four rough-as-badgers guys who had obviously been working on the site building the rides came in to use the showers - three 20-ish lads and a slightly older guy.
The lads were chatting (ie shouting) at one another about how they had managed to sneak in without paying, and that they were going to go out of the fire exit on the way out. Older guy told them not to be a bunch of pricks, that the sports centre had looked after them well for years, and got their money and took it down to the desk himself.

Yep definitely the case. A car park down the road from me keeps getting taken over. I walked into town a few times through the car park and you can see the women cleaning away and all the seats and some cabinets all have the thick plastic coverings over everything. And yep the car park stinks after they've been, probably doesn't help it was during the warm weather.V6Pushfit said:

Neither side of the argument covered itself in glory on that account.Basic sentence structure was also well beyond the educational achievement level of the majority of contributors.

My youngest is a part time lifeguard at the Spectrum, they get the odd few in causing no end of problems, last week a group got in the pool just as the pool was closing, they hadn't paid they managed to sneak in when the staff were tidying up.Upon being asked to vacate the pool and building, the staff were showered with a barrage of abuse and they refused to get out, in the end they had to be threatened with the Police; which made them move.
They are just misunderstood though!!

made a pita of themselves, apparently the local traveller liaison officer from the council was told they would move on for £200 a vehicle (just what i was told)
anyway some of the locals got upset with them, and talked to them, they were gone by lunch the next day. have no idea what was said. however some of the names involved were apparently the inspiration for the essex boys movie and may have had knowledge of the rettendon range rover shooting.
this is all 3rd hand info so may not be fully correct, but they did pack up sharpish and they have never come back, any of them.
I remember this happening when they pitched up in my old home town and caused a nuisance. The removal was taking too long due to legal complications so a couple of locals took matters into their own hands. The police and local council denied any knowledge of petrol bombs but they were thrown, more to intimidate than to damage apparently. There were rumours locally about who had done it but the police were as happy as the rest of us with the outcome so weren't really bothered with investigating the reports. The crime rate locally had gone through the roof, funnily enough it returned to normal after the "travellers" departed.
When my dad first joined the coppers they used intimidation to move them off illegal sites. Blues and twos periodically through the night was a favourite.
