It would appear that the ones that had taken over the kids football pitch here have now moved down the road to a pub car park that's been closed for many years. It's a decent size and next to 3 main roads (including the M62) and also subject to 6 rejected planning applications by McDonalds that have all been rejected due to NIMBY types who forget what an awful clientele the pub used to attract (including us lot in advance of tunnel runs).
So I'm happy for them to stay there a while just to see what drama unfolds.

Why should the council be proactive in providing loos when the caravans have them already...just because they are too proud to st in them doesnt mean the tax payers should provide for them
Same with skips-take it to the dump like everyone else has to
They take the toilet & kitchen sink out of the caravans because they are deemed unclean. Doing a poo in a bush and then not having anything to wash your hands with is fine though. Same with skips-take it to the dump like everyone else has to
Apparently it's just cheaper for the council to provide these facilities (and stand pipes) than it is to clean up after them. I bet most still don't use them and those that do load them with garden waste from their lucrative landscaping businesses.
In Cambridge we have the joys of Midsummer Fair. It drives me nuts that the Mayor and other local worthies go all dewy eyed about this fantastic, ancient tradition and can't wait to get their mugshots in the local paper on the first day, whilst around Midsummer Common, local residents who said worthies supposedly represent are having to board up their windows and put up with the "cheeky carnival folk" stting in their gardens. Even the local pub seems to find it less hassle to just close when they're around.

At least it's one event a year and a date is set. I know what you mean though but to have travellers turning up is different level. Mind you the travellers target Cambridge at the time of the fair anyway!Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
