Things are going to be interesting on Monday morning.

A Friday night pub crawl with some mates from work somehow turned into a st version of fight club with the guy I sit next to at work.

Nice bloke who I've met up with a fair bit outside of the office. Mid 30's, Birmingham lad, total geek but seems to have a switch which goes off randomly when he's pissed.

As he was staggering out of the pub I wished him good luck with his mrs (i.e have fun getting passed her in that state). He took this the wrong way and started kicking off a bit, decided I'd calm him down and get him a taxi sharpish.

As we get outside he tells me that the girls I was chatting to at the bar and I were 'taking the piss' and takes a full on swing for me. Being as pissed as he was it was a crap punch and my manager pulled him away.

Our manager then got punched as he was trying to sort him out. He then starts coming after me again which leads to me being chased down a few streets. Totally mental.

Something similar happened a couple of Christmases ago when he took a swing for another guy a work, being a Christmas thing and people being exceedingly nice nothing ever came of it.

Really nice fella, just has this temper which comes out of nowhere when he's pissed - but only once in a blue moon.

Feel sorry for him, it's going to be a st hangover tomorrow.

So if you know he's likely to be a knob when he's pissed, make sure he doesn't get pissed?

He'll be getting the sack for punching the manager so I wouldn't worry too much about seeing him again.

when i used to work as a doorman one of the most common things i used to hear from friends of someone who had just kicked off was "he's not normally like this. He's a nice guy normally"

My manager recently threatened to " knock me out with one punch".

I won't go into again what happened after.

No,this was at work but manager was going to knock me out when outside of the premises.

Because that makes it okay to get away with.

I collected my stuff and walked out.

At my place, he wouldn't get past reception on Monday morning and would be down the road by 9.30.

I know of a company who a few years ago wanted to reward all the staff with a free christmas party along with a "free bar"

Obviously some took advantage of this, and many shots later things were out of hand!!!

It ended up with 3 riot vans etc outside a nice country pub !!

I believe a few where sacked when they eventially turned up to work next.

They now only invite selected employees, and no free bar.

Or,

failing that,

Make sure you keep well away from him during nights outs.

You should hand in your PH badge now, what has it come to when a PH'er runs away from a fight, standards are slipping.

Why didn't you just put him on the floor instead of running away from him like a shrieking woman? You didn't need to beat him unconscious but I can't imagine why running away with your skirt flailing was in any way cool?

I worked with someone who revealed their nauxitous side when drinking. I summise that people surpress their real selves in most situations but alcohol unmasks this. They then blame it on the booze when really that is them warts and all.

From the sounds of it good riddance. Don't fall for the 'sorry it was the booze' bks. I've been hammered many a time and spent many a time with many people pissed. Only the prize aholes consistently 'change' with booze.

Edit on my work colleague I realised that it was classic narcisstic personality disorder being suppressed mainly.

We had someone die at one of our Christmas parties, whilst in fancy dress sleeping in someone else's room.

That was a fun filled morning sorting that out with the police and his family with and epic christmas party hangover.
