HDHomerun Best PVR Software
Discussion
As Plex have just announced support for PVR features (beta only ATM), I've finally ordered a HDHomerun Connect (network TV tuner).
Not expecting a lot from the Plex beta at this stage (no live TV yet), so I wondered what the tech savvy PH crew's current preference for PVR software is?
I'm running UNRAID with Plex in a docker container so can easily add another PVR solution alongside.

I have also just ordered a hdhomerun and also run Plex on unRAID!
The Plex DVR looks ok from the YouTube videos, but not unexpectedly somewhat incomplete with advanced functionality right now.
I notice there is a tvheadend docker recently out that I'm going to try as well. Difficult to know where else to turn until Amazon deem to ship my homerun.

That makes three of us
I've been looking at MythTV for Kodi (much prefer it to Plex), but it's a bugger to set up (to the point I've not managed it yet - so if anyone has pointers, they'd be gratefully received).
What I don't want is to have to pay monthly subscriptions to use PVR functionality. So that rules out Plex (as you need a Plex Pass - paying Plex a monthly fee to watch my own stuff? No thanks) and also DVBLink (runs on Kodi, easy to set up (backend at least). Fails on charges!).
I'm going to start just by using the LiveTV functionality - one or two of the rooms in my house have poor coax connections and this is an easier solution for those...plus puts all entertainment on one interface. I'll then persevere some more with the PVR piece I think (which could potentially kill using the TV as anything but a monitor).

So my HDHomerun finally turned up and is working nicely with Plex DVR BETA. Just need live TV and I'll be set.
Was really easy to setup, Plex even automatically detected the HD HR over the network.
I've started configuring a MythTV docker which is like stepping back to the 80's...
I followed the guide on youtube in this thread which is pretty comprehensive http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=4...
Anyone else up and running yet?

My hdhomerun also finally turned up. It's far more tiny and far more plasticity than I was expecting.
Running Plex on UnRAID and had the DVR setup in no time at all. Biggest time was spend scanning for channels about 20 times in order to pick up the HD multiplex. A known issue apparently.
So far really liking Plex DVR although it is clearly an early beta.

And mine
Impressed with the ease of basic set up. Took 5mins to get it running on my 3x Kodi boxes.
I'm not bothering with Plex at present as resent people trying to squeeze subscriptions out of me. I don;t watch TV enough to warrant it.
My understanding is that Myth and others like it can access "open" TV Guide sources rather than having to pay subs...?

Have you had any success? I managed to get the db up and connecting, then the Myth software configured only for it to tell me the db schema was out of sync....and haven't managed to get beyond that (have actually gone backwards!).I've started configuring a MythTV docker which is like stepping back to the 80's...
