If you could turn back your clock where would it be too?

I don't mean back to the middle ages I mean what point in your life would you go back to and take a different path from the one you did.
Where did you make the biggest mistake that you could go back to and change?
In employment, relationships, property who knows.
I'll reveal mine. I was 19 and in my first job with a multi national Food manufacturer. I started as a sales clerk within 2 years by age 21 I had been seconded to the field sales force, smashed every target and been twice promoted to Area sales trainer.
I had a brand new Escort 1.6 GL with body coloured wing mirrors, a suit allowance, a lunch allowance and lived at home with my parents in West London with more disposable than I knew what to do with.
Where did it all go wrong/

October 19th 2005. There was a company, offering the company I worked at the opportunity to take on sole U.K. Rights for its virtualisation product. The ability to host many pc's on a single PC.
I did the due diligence and reported back to the directors, who were all of the same opinion as me 'hardware is only getting cheaper, who's going to want to co host servers on less tin'.
If you are in IT, that company offer was from VMWare, who are now somewhat large.
I'd have become a director of the company, we would have rode vmware's coat tails for at least the 5 year contract and then some and sold the business for tens of millions.
I did the due diligence and reported back to the directors, who were all of the same opinion as me 'hardware is only getting cheaper, who's going to want to co host servers on less tin'.
If you are in IT, that company offer was from VMWare, who are now somewhat large.

Either 14 ish, work harder at school and so on.
Or about 10years ago. I was one of 2 managers at the time. We were called into the office and told one of us needed to move across to another management role. It was slightly lower level but less stress easier role less responsibility and I wasn't fussed but other lad was interested so he switched. My role got a bit mental over the next few years and I was required to stay and see projects through while he laughed his way through several promotions with his feet up. I left the company 5 years later and 10years on he's sitting pretty high up in the company.
Were both still good mates but he admits I got the rough end of the stick with all the hard work I put in.

Personally I'll go back to about 8am this morning and I'll delete the correct hard drive partitions and not the OS drive and backup drive. I've had better days.
Early 1993 and the 16 year olds at my school could use the attached gym for free after school. One evening it was just me and two girls. They tried to get me to sneak into the girls only sauna with them.

2003, I was doing my mate a favour he owned a driving agency and I have a class 1 or C+E license.
I had some time between IT contracts and he was in a fix with his biggest client.
During the afternoon I had a call to say a trailer was due and MOT so as I was back early could I take it to the garage.
No issue but uncoupling the one I had already to hitch to the one for MOT an accident occurred.
I pulled the kingpin lever and it pulled back due to a forked spring, I went with it and separated some vertebrae in my neck as my head hit the trailer and my body kept going underneath. Woke up in hospital and then spent a year out.
Lucky they did not completely separate or this would be a different story.
I still take pain killers to this day so that I can work. (It works for me and I do 7 hours etc hikes)
I did lose a lot of my memories from my past after.

I'd got back to the end of February 2008 and tell my ex to actually go and see her Dad. It doesn't matter if they've got a houseful of her visiting brother and his obnoxious kids. He'd want to see her and would be interested in her new car.
That way when he died very suddenly just a couple of weeks later she wouldn't be quite so f
ked in the head about that regret.

I think it would have to be the "marry the teenage sweetheart" alternate reality. Probably the biggest "what if?" in many people's lives. Most of the other stuff is window dressing, really.
How many have the thoughts or regrets of missed opportunity?Im very happy in the relationship Im in now, but through all my casual relationships as a single guy there was one girl that I always met while seeing someone else that just might have been the one.. or may have been a disaster. Just shows, better to regret something you have done than havent.....
May 1989. Jenny. She had gorgeous big brown eyes and I fell for her when we first met, I'm fairly sure, from the way our eyes met the first time that she felt the same.
We were around each other for 2 weeks during a stage play, afterwards we all went separate ways. There was only 1 opportunity to ask her out and I didn't, I thought there would be another chance and there never was - always lots of people around everyone was very busy. Bugger.
Obviously this was before internet and mobiles so couldn't track her down.
