Three, plus my brother.
Many pub/club mates, but three who I've known since we were kids.

Just counted:
13 "best" friends.
25 regular social contact friends.
40 acquaintances that i see fairly often through the other two groups.

Strangely i think i don't like people that much but apparently i like them more than i would have thought.

2.
I like this as a gauge. I've 2 people I trust with anything. One I've known for 13/14 years and another I've know for 26.

I would say 3.

A "friend" will help you move, a real friend will help you move a body......

One.

Lots of mates, lots of people I've met at various stages in my life who I can meet up with and take off like the intervening 20 years or whatever haven't happened, but 'only' one proper friend.

Probably 0.
Had a good core of friends upto around aged 22. From then on things change, got married had kids full time job, studying etc.

Not really kept in touch and vice versa. Was only invited to the evening do of one of their weddings. They all came to mine though 13 years ago.

Got work acquaintances who I go out to lunch with, always had these.

3 that I'd class as brothers (strangely though, not my brother).

Probably 30+ that I see regularly.

I asked one of them. He said yes without even asking who/why smile

Excluding the misses I haven't really got any friends at all and I don't go out much. Sad really but I can't be arsed/haven't got time to be going out socialising.

I was about to post the same sentiment. I know 2 people (both women, incidentally) who would do this for me, and could be trusted to keep schtum for ever. Now that's what I call trust, someone with whom you have a real bond.

One who would help out when I'm in the brown stuff and that person is my brother.

2 friends I see every now and then art from that 0 real mates any more. Girlfriend is very sociable wants to get married but I feel slightly embarrassed about number of her friends that will attend vs number of mine. I can think of 2 that I'd invite.

A friend is someone who will help you move.

A good friend is someone who will help you move a body.

I have two good friends.

That's a worry
Indeed.

Perhaps I should rephrase that to I can remember who maybe 50 of them are.

Not quite so scary now smile

Used to be two but now just the one that I trust implicity and can rely upon when the need arises.

The rest, I wouldn't even bother asking for help.

Only the one. Same one I've had for 43 years.
