A few years ago I'd have said 3, maybe 4. Now the answer is none.

One I've known for over 40yrs, saw him through his 1st marriage & subsequent divorce, now married again & she doesn't like me (he & I have a very similar, dry humour & laugh without saying anything as we each know what the other is thinking), she hates that. Not seen or spoken to him for about 3yrs now, never fell out, just drifted apart. Bailed him out of many situations, all of his own drunken making but now realise it was very one sided.

Split with my OH about 5yrs ago, really telling who your real friends are when the chips are down, mine were mostly left wanting.

Mine has gone down to zero. Just rang him and asked about hiding a body and sounding serious as a true test.
He hung up. Wont answer calls and his phone is now turned off.
Oops

in the st middle of the night ring mates another 10 or so,

The number decreased sharply. There were 6 when I was 20, in the last 15 years I can say I added one but I lost 4 so 3 now.

The amount of contacts in the phone does not mean much, I looked now, the Iphone says 1187, too lazy to clear the no longer needed ones...

To dispose of a body, think I've only got one who'd do that. Maybe 2 but I think the second would do it more for wanting to do the deed than to help me.

Friends seemed to start dropping off the radar for me when I was about 23/24. People seem to change over the years and grow into different people than they were in their younger days, which is why I think people drift apart. Also, sometimes you just realise that a persons actually a bit of a tt!

I have maybe half a dozen people I interact/socialise with on an infrequent basis mostly ex-work colleagues who have stayed in touch.

"help bury a body" type friends - none.

I had a very close friend of over 20 years. I trusted her with everything. She was god mother to my first child.

The darkly devious bh stabbed me (and my family) in the back in a way someone I didn't trust could never have done.

Difficult to trust anyone now but apart from family I have 3 close friends.

Same, I know people but no one I'd call if I was in trouble.
This, although I have family I would call on.

I could argue there is one friend I could call on but she's more effort than it's worth so I'd call 999 first wink

I've got more people that would do that, than friends.

I'd say I've about 6 "true friends", but they are spread all over the globe, so I see some so rarely now.
I've about a dozen "friends", but again, spread all over.

I've also about a dozen "mates" that I go drinking with and to events (motorsport, concerts, holidays).
