How about a thread that shows how grateful we are for things we have. I for one would love a bigger house, faster car but we have what we have materially and i believe we should all be grateful for it. Please post a positive message for the things that you have worked hard for or have been lucky to obtain.

Things I am grateful for:
My beautiful wife and amazing children
My old and trustworthy E39 M5, going on a bit now, but can not really afford to upgrade
Living in London
Having my health and state of mind
Being able to run (slowly) and visit the gym
My work, my job
My perfect body that i can use to see, hear and move with
Another day being alive

Anyone else, does not matter how big or small your gratitude is or for what, just as long as we can bring some positive vibes into the forum.

My pride in the way that I have rebuilt my life over the last 6 years from a point of near bankruptcy when my ex wife left.
My beautiful new wife (of 10 weeks)
My stepson and daughter
All of our good health
The good times to come biggrin

Am I doing it right?

I'm grateful I nearly got a distinction on my recent exam and also scored high on my engineering exam at uni as a mature student who left school with nothing near 20 years ago.
I'm grateful that after being nearly paralysed that I'm now back into bodybuilding after 5 years and hitting a 44 inch waist, now down to a 38 inch waist.
Grateful for my kids and that they are healthy, happy and very loving kids.

Well, we're all in the top few percent of the richest people in the world, the opportunities we have for leisure are greater than at any time in history, we live better than the kings of only few hundred years ago, and we have conquered many of the illnesses which killed so many in the past.
Life is good.

I have a wife who is way out of my league but doesnt know it.

I earn far more money than i should in relation to my level of smarts.

I live in one house which i got for a song, and one house where the mortgage is 0.75% and the local authorities give me 1% of house value for lives ng there so i make 0.25% of house value each month.

I have, so far never had a tragedy in my life, my nan dying is the only thing which has come close but that was two days after her 90th birthday and in her sleep with reasonable health and all her marbles right up to that point, or my mum who has managed to fight pf cancer a couple pf times but is a far stronger person for it.

I have a lot to be thankful for.

Things I am grateful for:
My free and single lifestyle.
My car - It's refreshing to have a modern cheap to run car, especially after 10 years of running old Mercedes.
Not living in London.
Having my health, and my mind is in a state.
Being able to hobble about - it's a good excuse for not going to the gym.
My work, and the pittance I get paid for doing it.
My aging body that i can still use to see, hear and move with - Despite my abuse of it over the last 55+ years.
Another day of living in this beautiful country.
Plus hundreds of other things everyday.

At times when I feel like I should have done a bit better in life (with money) I remind myself how lucky I am to have;

A warm, dry, comfortable home
Food
Water
A loving family
Great friends
My cars
All my other stuff

So overall I consider myself very lucky indeed, and happy. smile

I'm having a Jacket Potato with one of those Bachelors rices poured over it for tea tonight, I love that tea, I'm very grateful for that.

i am not in good health generally , so each day is a bonus ,and i enjoy it as such.

Every day when I wake up, I stretch out my elbows and if there's no wood there, I know I'm in for another great day! smile

One of our local gardening companies has a black Merc Vito with no logos. Looks like a "private ambulance". On our street we are the youngest by far and lots of 80+ people, which is nice is many ways, but every time I see it parked up outside a house I do a double take.

Especially when I see the quite smartly dressed gardener getting a chainsaw out of the back of the van...

I'm very grateful for my fiancee, who has had to put up with me being very stressed out over the past few months as we make our first foray in to house purchasing, but has been endlessly patient, has calmed me down, and reassured me that this will all work out okay in the end.

I'm also grateful that it's autumn, it's getting colder, which means it'll soon be blanket and hot water bottle time, and a good excuse to drink hot chocolate at lunch, and going for chilly walks on Sunday before having a nice big roast dinner. I love the cold weather, I'm really looking forward to it.

Having had and recovered from bacterial meningitis 3 times and being blessed with an amazing daughter and wife I can safely say I'm happy to be alive and certainly grateful!

Do I sometimes still forget what's really important in life, yes, but does it take me very long to put things back into perspective ... no (except when the man maths can't quite justify what I want them to!).
