Finished building my race car
Became a racing driver this year
6 years of marriage to a long suffering woman
A strong supportive wife who I am not sure knows just how strong she really is
A "step son" who makes his mum and I very proud*
Inlaws who forever have me in stitches
A job that pays more than I am probably worth
Being able to travel and be paid for it sometimes too
Jenson Buttons 2009 WDC
Being involved in organising two one make race formulas (one of which is one of the biggest in the UK) as a hobby
Cars, the good, the bad and the ugly
Being alive, a small miracle in itself when considering I was born almost very nearly dead
Being taller than my dad
Being taller than my brother
T-Shirts
Gadgets and toys
Having a workshop in my garden
Coffee
Many, many other things, sometimes life is just grand!

- I never refer to him as my step son in normal language, he is only 6 years younger than me it just feels weird, also I have enforced a "Call me your step dad and I will knock your teeth out" policy for sometime now so I cant maintain a double standard

Every day when I wake up, I stretch out my elbows and if there's no wood there, I know I'm in for another great day!

A friend of a friend lives in Syria and posts on FB. Whenever I see something of his, I realise I haven't a real worry in the world.
Watered? Check.
Fed? Check.
Clothed, warm, dry? Check.
Loved? Mostly (I'm an arse).
Caterham making a funny noise? Suck it up. No-one is dropping chemicals on your town.
Davina McCall was talking about her attitude of gratitude on Chris Evan's R2 show the other day. Nice to hear.

Some of Buddy Holly, the working folly
Good Golly Miss Molly, and boats
Hammersmith Palais, the Bolshoi Ballet
Jump back in the alley add nanny goats
18-wheeler Scammels, Domineker camels
All other mammals plus equal votes
Seeing Picadilly, Fanny Smith and Willy
Being rather silly, and porridge oats
A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome we can spare it - yellow socks
To short to be haughty, too nutty to be naughty
Going on forty - no electric shocks
The juice of a carrot, the smile of the parrot
A little drop of claret, anything that rocks
Elvis and Scotty, days when I ain't spotty
Sitting on the potty, curing smallpox
Reasons to be cheerful ...

68 today and am the fittest I have been in 25 years.
Congratulations. Have you thought about posting in Health Matters about getting fitter and older?I broke my back 17 years ago but am one of the 5% who walk. Routine scans as a result showed up a kidney cancer this year at a very early stage, before symptoms. Sorted.
If the wind drops I might go flying this afternoon.
Recently bought a new car, 326 bhp, so over 550 between the two.
It's partly luck, partly what you make it. It's easy not to do things.
I'm the kind of person who always wants more, but I can still appreciate what I have:
- I've had big pay cuts over the past 2 years, but still earn enough to manage
- My house could use some new windows at some point, but it's still a great house, on top of a hill with an amazing view in all directions, but particularly to the south where we can see around 30 miles away. We like to have breakfast at weekends on our dining table by a glass gable end enjoying that view. It's brilliant.
- I have cars I like
- I have a uniquely wonderful wife
- I have two daughters who mean the world to me
- My immediate and extended family (parents, sister etc) are all in fairly good health
- I have a nice cat and her kittens around the house
- I have a very small number of non-the-less genuine friends
- We're going on a nice family holiday with another family we're friends with soon
I'll continue to push and shove and see what I can make of myself, but if I get no further, I will be content.

Well, I split up with my wife 2 months ago - found out she was cheating. Was absolutely devastated. Could've sat on my arse feeling sorry for myself but life is too short for that. From that terrible situation:
Secured a chunky payrise
Now able to work from home 100% of the time
Moving to Malta to live a new life there
Secured an amazing apartment to live in
A good friend is moving at the same time
I have my health
I have two cats that are great
I'm still young...ish
Everything to live for!
Really looking forwards to what happens next in life...

I don't have my health but I've always thought it was a waste of time to worry about things you can't control, but
I've got a lovely Wife who earns enough to look after me and for us not to have to worry about money.
I've got 2 , mostly, lovely kids who are doing well at School,
I live in a lovely village in a very nice, modified, house
Everyone I know are great,
My parents are still alive, healthy and are good friends again after a divorce,
I've got 2 cars and I support a team which got a golden ticket after many troublesome years.
My glass is definitely half full
