This is featured today in Autocar. Positive, if bland, report. Anyone know any more about Ka, seen? driven? Incidentally I have little interest in soft-feel dashboads, dampened cup holders or most " infotainment". I like cars, though.

I've never driven it. It looks ste - that's all I know.

A car designed for the developing world, like the Ford Ecosport.

Its not exactly stunning to look at but it is much better than the previous model which looked like someone had trodden on it - I've seen very few of those on the road over the last few years.

I'm not in great disagreement, but what isn't boring in the city car segment?

Saw one at the dealer when I picked my new one up on Monday. First thought was 'that's bloody big for a KA' and it really is, its probably about the same size as a mk4 Fiesta, loads of room inside too. I also thought there was more than a hint of mk4 Micra about it.

Starting at £9k I think they'll sell well as a cheap run-around which is unfortunate for the rest of us as we'll be the ones having to look at them!

Fiat 500 and another humdrum driver but cute looker , the Vauxhall Adam.

Yep, both nice cars, I also like the Up and the pre-facelift Twingo

In this sector its very difficult to make something look good as a 5 door as the proportions are just never going to suit it.

I think the proportions are closer to current fiesta than anything, - as the fiesta will get bigger next year. You'll get a great deal on the current shape fiesta if you're looking to get one now.

Ka looks awful

I know it's all marketing and product evolution and so on but I find it slightly annoying that with each generation of a model, the car grows bigger, and then a couple of years later the manufacturer has a eureka moment and "re-invents" the city car by launching a whole new titchy model to kick off the cycle once again.

Just looked at a couple of pictures, dull interior, is the instrument cluster from a 1996 Fiesta but with the addition of a trip computer?

hehe It does look a little mk4/mk5ish. Wonder if the sporty models will have racy white dials?

They're big though, pretty much Fiesta size. Saw a load on a transporter the other day and was amazed at the size.

Not unusual. Most modern minis make old normal saloon cars like small its utterly infuriating.

I know there are safety consideration to be taken into account but it doesnt mean the cars have to be as tall as skyscrapers.

I was once sat in my old 2001 audi A4 and a mini pulled up next to me and I looked out the window and its door handle was level with my eyeline.

Mini my fking arse. A tank would be more small and subtle.

A small car should be small in all dimensions. Even the new smart cars are rather large in size compared to their previous generation.

Then we have BMW with the GT version of each of their normal saloons to complement the X1 X3 X5 X6 X7 X8 X9 X9.1 X9.2 X9.21 X....

Its just a joke.

Hmm. I'm sure it's all well and good, but think it should perhaps have not used the KA name. This or a Dacia Sandero?

I remember when the fiesta was launched and heralded as "fords new baby"
They will have to make a new city car now.
On that basis the next Mondeo will be huge

What's the Vauxhall equivalent? Viva I'm guessing?
