Tyres - E63AMG
Discussion
I will soon need new tyres on the E63 so am looking for opinions from fellow owners on the best replacements.
Currently have P Zeros, rears have done 17k miles with 2mm tread left. The car is my daily driver so hasn't been driven particularly hard most of the time, just an occasional pot shot at the horizon when conditions allow.
Given its size and weight, it's surprisingly agile and it has been sharp and precise in all conditions so no complaints about the P Zero's performance, except that I have nothing to compare it with.
I am considering Continental or Good Year as alternatives but am open to suggestions.
Any comments will be very welcome.
Thanks in advance.

I've got conti sp5 on my cls biturbo. Wearing well, the fronts have just been changed to the new conti sp6 which are noticeably quieter but I think softer compound, as they seem to be wearing quicker. The car is now over 3 years old with 35k, used daily. They do seem to have better grip in the wet too.
Got P Zero on the front, which the car came with.
Tried a few on the rear and the Goodyear Eagle FI have been the best so far, though I'm not expecting to get mega miles out of them as they seem to be quite a soft compound. They don't spin up as easily as others I've tried either, in third or fourth gear under harsh acceleration they seem to behave quite well.
Michelin have been suggested to me, and I may give them a try, though I quite like these at the moment. One of side effects of a few horsepower is that you do get the chance to try plenty of brands out. Like every 5,000 miles or so...

You're not trying hard enough. Edited by daveenty on Monday 10th October 13:40
PZeros on my E63 - and all good, even in wet conditions when my experience of the same tyres on other cars is not as favourable.
Just changed from very worn Pilot Sports on my Cayman S to P Zeros...and not so sure...
Had Conti Sports on my old E55, also a good tyre - and cheaper - but felt less grippy to me, although difficult to compare.

Thanks to all for your replies. Pdelamares comment on the latest Pzero sounds encouraging so will probably go with that.
The other brands suggested are also on my list of possibles so nice to have that confirmed.
I don't see many E63's about so it is good to know that there others somewhere . Lovely bits of kit , real wolf in sheeps clothing. Just love overtaking at full chat and rousing the other driver from their slumber. Old enough to know better, but what the hell!
