I turned 40 this year and have found myself increasingly crossing my legs when sitting in the office chair or on the sofa at home. I now find it quite comfortable and it seems to help me address better posture in my lower back, in the office chair anyway.

I distinctly remember as a younger man looking at my father sitting crossed legged when reading the paper in his chair and thinking it was less than masculine.

I think my bks used to pinch between my thighs but these days they hang so low that they seem to fall right through and are cosseted firmly between seat and my raised buttock.

Is this a normal turn of events post middle age?

Every now and again.... comedy gold! Erm - I sometimes perch one ankle on the opposing knee after a cycle when sitting down. But not at any other time, awkward and uncomfortable.

Well I'm packaing like a Bubal tribe member (obviously, this is PH) and can happily cross my legs. Don't do it all that often, but sometimes it feels comfortable. I'm reasonably slim, wonder if the issue is more for the pie favouring gentlemen?

I'm 6ft5, and of pie favouring build, I would hardly class myself as shrimpy either - there's an ample portion of meat and veg.

Cross my legs just fine smile

Quite often sit in the evening with my feel on a foot stall, legs crossed at the ankles.

I'm talking above the knee with legs bent 90 degrees.

Thus...

It's about time you thought about updating your camera isn't it?

I don't do that... Just tried it, and it's not comfy. I sometimes do the ankle-on-knee sit though.

It's becoming more obscure by the day

Yes!

For years I watched my father and Grandfather do this and thought it was the most uncomfortable way to sit evahh.

Now, at 39 I can't stop myself, I put it down to genetics.

I can't help thinking I look like Kenny Everett doing the "Best possible taste" woman though, my wife's given up shouting insults at me when I do it now.

I find this position uncomfortable/impossible due to my pie-favouring build and powerful thighs, plus of course one has to consider the provided equipment when sitting to avoid the squeeze/squash that could otherwise occur.

brilliant thread!

I find myself with my ankle under my knee on my office chair, this is very comfotable. I do feel a bit 'squashed' if i go knee-on-top-of-knee.

I'm sitting at my desk in this position whilst posting this. It's pretty normal.

Do your balls hang low?
Can you swing 'em to and fro?
Can you tie 'em in a knot?
Can you tie 'em in a bow?

(Sorry, couldn't resist)

Yes, this is how i am sitting right now. However, i can only do left foot under right thigh (right foot under left thigh is uncomfortable)

I'm 34 and ankle on the knee yes, leg totally over the other is a no go. Admittedly it's not the most manly of seating positions but I also don't want to crush my nuts!

Whats wrong with sitting down to piss? Obviously I don't do it every time and only ever in the comfort of my own home but I find it quite relaxing after a long day. Am I alone?
