What's to say she won't have been doing the same with someone from her own country, from anecdotal evidence on this thread it doesn't look like they get treated very well back home either. Seems to be a bit of self righteous indignation going on when everyone knows the types of girls we are talking about aren't one and the same thing. The fact that people feel the need to mention that their partners come from decent families, earn more then them (this is my favourite one) and are directors of multiple companies just to prove that they categorically aren't a typical Thai Bride says more about their own insecurities then anything else IMO.

Likewise I know a creaky old dude who has a wife younger than his youngest daughter. Good luck to them all if they're going into it with their eyes open. I'm sure, given the choice we'd all love to meet the mate of our dreams at 21, go on to earn millions and keep our bodies in great shape until we drop dead from shagging inappropriately at 95. But for many people that option is past. For those who go into it with open eyes I say good luck. To those who go into it like lambs, they have my sympathy at best but not at worst.

Nothing can replace the love and affection a porker your own age gives you, right...........Assuming said porker DOES love and respect you.
The thing I always laugh at is that most of the guys I know in Asia are there because they were already cleaned out at least once, or more, in a divorce by one of those ever loving, ever respecting porkers that society thinks is their ideal partner........

The mistake many guys seem to make is coming to Asia looking for lust, and when some professional sex operative performs adequately and enthusiastically, as is their particular expertise, as is expected from them, said guy mistakes it for affection...and the rest is history.

I think at the end of the day we all want to be loved and some people get to the stage where they are prepared to take a big risk to do so. This makes them vulnerable to those who may not have their best interests at heart. There seems to be an assumption around here that it's bound to end in tears, and that the Thais are just preying on foolish men who should know better, but the only guy I know who did similar did OK for a very long time and it's my guess that when it fell apart it was more of his doing than hers.

When some gorgeous sweet young thing climbs into your lap and is really, REALLY nice to you, it is hard to separate the reality from the logical. Yes, you know she is a hooker, no, it doesn't matter right there, but the better a hooker she is, the more you think she is a genuine girl who actually likes YOU. A sad sort of irony there.All guys like to think they are different than the average tourist, like to think they have something that the girls will really like, will really fall for. I did too when I first got to Thailand, but I was only 30, and really just out to party, and party I did, dozens, if not a hundred or more 'girlfriends' in the year I was in Phuket, before I ran out of money.......
I remember it with fondness, and a sort of sadness now, because I know I can never go back and repeat that 'learning curve', landing in Thailand, young, free, single, with a pocket full of money and an open calender. There is far more to it than just sex, a whole culture to learn, and a language I became quite proficient at.
One day I will go back there, alone, and the party will continue......

I am not sure I understand this.
You see, IME there are many, many women from all cultures, countries and whatnot who are after a man with the money to look after them.
I mean, I went to Uni with a large number of intelligent and attractive ladies, a fair number of whom wanted to work for a few years, then stay at home with a child or two whilst hubby paid for it all. They were from various countries too. Then I went to work for a bank and again there was no shortage of intelligent (and very beautiful) ladies. Chat to plenty and their aim was the same, find a man, settle down, have child, end work. Enjoy life and lunches etc..
I await the flaming in due course.
