People (usually of the younger generations, but where would PH be without a bit of young-people-bashing) talking to their phone while holding it in front of their face, rather than against their ear in the traditional manner. Why?

Most modern touchscreen phones are comprised of two large elements which can get very hot: the screen and the battery. Advancements in microphones, speakerphones and noise cancelling technology mean that it's just as practical to hold it away from you to carry out a conversation.

Holding the handset out in front of them and speaking tends to avoid sweaty ear syndrome. Bonus points for walking along the street not watching where you're going and shouting at the call recipient.

I quite like it, it's got a car related origin at least so it's suitable for PH. (because race car)

Because I have a knackered old Android handset and the person on the other end can’t hear me talking otherwise!!
